BB - great minds think alike - thats almost what I have gone for, i,ve made a white sauce, but added the 'jelly like' chicken stock and the root veg it was rosted on - has gone a weird ginger colour, but i,m sure it,ll taste okay.
Thanks for the feedback xNote to self - STOP SPENDING MONEY !!

Afternoon All
Back from my travels, Southampton and back in 2 days was a bit of a hike but DS2s GF now has all her possessions with her and I got to see my DB and SIL and family so a worthwhile trip.
Congrats to Lou, I had one at 9lb 13 1/2 and another at 9lb 8oz, the middle one was just small though - 8lb 7oz!
Bitsy - My DH was in the Navy so spent time away from home, you end up having different lives, one when he's there and another when he's home. Children soon adapted. Hope things go ok for you.
Glorious day here but had to scrape ice off the car this morning. Had to take the car in this morning to have the front wings replaced under warranty (not bad for a 7 year old car!) as they have started to rust so it was an early start. DD off work too so we went for a walk up a very big hill where I huffed and puffed a lot but the views were fantastic over Loch Lomond, so glad I made the effort.
Not sure yet what's for tea, maybe risotto, will do some housework when it rains, not going to waste this weather!
Had some good news today, had a disagreement with a car insurance company where they gave me false information before I took out the policy, I complained and they have refunded my cancellation fee. According to a certain website there have been a lot of complaints about the same thing so they have obviously realised they were wrong.
Take care. XX0 -
Evening all
Bitsy - hope DH enjoys his job, and that it's not too stressful for you all. Would Skyping/Facetime help DS with it?
Adelight - good luck for move
Tappers - enjoy your time off!
I feel like crapwoke up full of a cold, and have just got worse all day despite taking drugs for it. Feeling very sorry for myself :rotfl:. Not going to college tonight, brain not working.
Despite feeling ill, I got lots done in work. Did some admin first off then banished everyone from the new stationary room and started unpacking and sorting stuff. My OCD totally took over, but it now looks brill and we can find everything! The boys worked on organising the kit room. It's all coming together now, just need the rest of the new furntiure to arrive!
OS wise - HM soup eaten for snack, something from freezer for tea, recycling put out, bins emptied.
Have a good evening all

Hi.
Not been around for a few days owing to 'me back'.
Dragged a very heavy box from AF from the hall into the erstwhile dining room and haven't moved much since.
Not much OS going on but have spent a lot of the day semi-crouched
on a hard chair knitting Christmas stockings. Bent like a hair pin but my hands still work.
Oh Lou! Congratulations - hope it wasn't too bad. Lots of love.
That's all for today. Hope to be more normal tomorrow. 'Normal' is an aspiration rather than an expectation.

Wow wasn't that Austrian chap the business.I sat watching it almost with one eye shut and had everything crossed for him.I told the grandchildren it reminded me of when Armstrong went to the moon in 1969.I can remember sitting glued to the TV and I had my eldest DD who was alomst two on my lap and I was 8 months pregnant with my youngest DD at the time I all most gave birth when he stepped down onto the moon .Today no one seems to think its all that great, but to me then it was just awe-inspiring.I think the whole of the UK were willing him on back then.
I remember phoning my late Dad and asking him what he thought of it and his words were
"I have lived long enough to see the first car in Brechin (he was born in 1890) and now to see a man walk on the moon at my age I just think I have lived a good long life"
He sadly passed away in 1974 age 84 but he was right , I wonder what my grandchildren will remember when they get to that age of the early part of this century.
I had a really nice day today I went to knitting club and my friend who lives in Dartfor came down for the day and we had a great natter and a nice lunch and my DD had given me a Chocolate indulgence cake that she had got from a free voucher from Tescos yesterday so we just had to try it out and it was delicious ,especially more so as it was a freebie(DD is dieting )
I'm just off to sort out something light for dinner as I'm still full up from our lunch ,probably a cheese ommelette I think
Have a good evening everyone
Cheers JackieO xxx
P.S. watched Good Cop om Saturday night and found the ending left you hanging a bit, shame as it was such a good drama show ,maybe it will come back next year0 -

we watched it too - very disappointed by the ending - the series was cracking to begin with then sort of petered out we thought.
We had a phonecall this afternoon to say DH's father was in hospital after a heart attack - he's 81(this month) we've just got back from visiting him - he's making a good recovery after having 2 stents put in. He was really pleased to see us - it can be very scary in hospital and is nice to see a friendly face isn't it.
Anyway (((hugs))) to those in need, off to bed shortly xDo what you love :happyhear0 -
