Hi, this is the Daily Thread for 15th October. This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!
As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or slow internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred.
When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning.
Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” type start does just as well.

Morning everyone
Survived first night without hubby. DS had a wobble and got upset before bedtime so will warn school this morning. Both kids slept in my bed last night. Am going to try and get them in their own tonight. Whether they will stay there is a different matter
No idea what I am cooking myself to tea. Will try and get my head round cooking for one (cook separate to kids as DS won't eat what we eat).
Popping to see a friend for a quick coffee and then it's back to decorating. Bathroom getting a lick of paint today.
Sorry not loads of OS, haven't got the time ATM for baking etc which I miss. Not even cleaning the house properly :o
It's just started to rain here, hope its dry where you are
PS. Did anyone watch Felix Baumgartner :eek: the bit where he falls from the balloon makes my stomach churn  he's got balls of steel.......and good looking to boot:D
I have a gift for enraging people, but if I ever bore you it'll be with a knifeLouise Brooks

Morning all - had a rough Sunday and an unpleasant night with minimal sleep as I ran out of painkillers on Saturday. Off to work soon for the morning; I'm holding the fort as two colleagues are out. Working 4 half-days this week and next week, with Wednesdays off. Curry tonight - that's as far as I've got with today's planning.

Morning everyone
Hugs to those that need/want them that are having a hard/sad time at the moment x
Overcast and cloudy, and wet underfoot after rain yesterday but no rain forecast for today, so have put washing on the line. DH up and off to work stupid early.
Had a brilliant weekend, was really relaxed and nice to be away met some new people and caught up with some that we haven't seen for a while, had a lovely Chinese meal Friday evening and then a buffet lunch Saturday before the meeting. Saturday evening there was a disco, so did lots of dancing and managed not to drink very much at all over the whole weekend, felt so much better when I got up Sat and Sunday morning, so will be trying to cut down. We're not away this weekend but we're away again the following weekend - that won't be a boozy weekend either, need to keep a check on it otherwise I'm going to put all my weight back on and I worked too hard to do that and of course Xmas is not that far away!
Dinner tonight is smoked sausage pasta with creme fraiche sauce. Back to work today for me but I have a sore throat and cough which every now and then means I almost lose my voice, will see how I go, I don't actually feel that bad at the moment and I've been like it since before the weekend, hoping it doesn't escalate into anything more.
Have a good day, stay safe and well x

Bitsy hope hubby's job goes well, is commuting not an option? It's not uncommon or that bad I swear:D
Having said that im moving today whoop. Getting a bed and loads of other bits off a really nice aussie who's going back there. Have work first though which is not going to be fun as me being thorough has dredged up loads of old mistakes that need sorting outsince a few colleagues got thrown under the bus the other week people are really worried about the same happening to them.
Hope everyone has a Good day ((hugs))
It's good to see so many happy posts :TLiving cheap in central London :rotfl:0 -

Morning All
Grey and cold here this morning.
I have another half a bag of pickled onions to peel and brine so that will take up a lot of my day. I don't know what possessed me to buy 10kgs, but still they will last right through to next October and some will go into hampers.
I want to make the Christmas cake sometime this week too and I will make a small one to go into the outlaws hamper.
Bitsy Is DH coming home at weekends? When DH was away we used to talk every night, sadly no skype then but he had a company phone and was allowed to use it to phone home when he was away. (((Hugs to all of you and positive vibes for his first day)))
Oh well must get peeling

Perhaps it would be best to leave this to Lou when she feels ready, she may or may not want a photo of him on here, and I would hate for her to get upset xx
Morning all,
Sky is very black indeed so expecting rain at any moment, washing will be on the airers again, managed to get loads dry at the weekend.
Need to drop dd at work this morning, then home to hoover through and tidy downstairs, then post ebay parcels (all 7 paid straight away :j) and then prep dinner.
Dinner is roast chook, cauli and broc cheese, roast spuds, carrots and cabbage, looking forward to that.
This afternoon I need to take dd to get black trousers, her dad did not have the time to take her yesterday, (could have guessed that!!!!), so we shall go this afternoon.
Bitsy hope this week is ok for you xx
Adelight good luck xx
Have good days all xx0
