I agree it does become easier and in some respects is so much simpler - I found this to be the case when Kid's Dad worked in Japan for a few years.

I used to eat with the kids and no faffing around. I became a bit of a slummy mummy too but hey no one bothered. I always looked forward to him coming home but there was always this period of adjustment. Also absence definitely makes the heart fonder......;);)

....No idea what I am cooking myself to tea. Will try and get my head round cooking for one...

Bitsy, when DH is away, I cook for two and have left-overs the day after tomorrow - never the next day!

...Dermatitis flared up on my hands again, but has improved this morning. I took my usual soap, shower gel etc. with us so I'm not sure what caused it :undecided...

Maybe it was the change of water?

Not much OS going on - have a ton of raspberry jam to make, along with blackberry & apple jelly and blackcurrant jelly, all from the allotment via the freezer.

Am still crossing my legs at the weight of Lou's not-so-little new addition!

My DD was 9 lb 13½ oz, none of the clothes I had made fitted her and she was massive compared to all the other babies on the ward.

I certainly thought she was heavy and she is an only child :rotfl:

I went smaller each time - started off with a 9 lb-er and then had 6 lbs and below. It was literally like shelling peas having the last three.

One of those days today. Hugs x

Molly I'm guessing you had an edge on some ladies, as you knew exactly what was happening and why, at each step of the way.:o

Sorry you're having one of those days - hopefully a better one tomorrow.;)

    Oh my gosh!

My DD went straight into 3 month old clothes, I assume Noah was the same or an even bigger size?

I remember the midwife telling me that my DD would probably end up petite and would never believe she was a massive baby. Yeah right, that is why she is 5'11" now :)

    Hi all,

Day off today, got a load of ironing to do, and a major clean up is needed.

Family have told me they are fed up with chicken pie, so need to think of something else to use up yesterdats roast, we don,t eat pasta and brain has gone... Would a chicken stewy type thing work with sliced potato on top?

Hope your all well, havn,t had a chance to read through yet.

Better get off - said i,d do some baking today, thinking of making cinamon buns with lemon drizzle and banana and chocolate muffins, maybe some flapjacks and we appear to have a mountain of porrage oats in the cupboards.

DD in major creep mode, she wants a new phone and has asked me to meet her in town later - have asked her to write down what 'jobs' she,s prepared to do to 'earn' it as OH is working 7 days a week at the moment and i,m doing 10 hour days at work - at 16 she should be helping out more!

Have a good monday all xx

I am doing a chicken crumble tonight with the left overs from yesterdays chook.
L/O chicken cubed, carrots, onions and mushrooms (I use a clove of garlic in mine which you can leave out if you have young children or simply don't like it ) in a mushroom sauce then topped with HM crumble, served with new potatoes and broccoli or runner beans
Blessed are the cracked for they are the ones that let in the light
