    Thanks

I went there with my family on a Sun Holiday and it was the worst place I have ever been too. We all hated it, even my kids.... it is very run down and a bit of a dump...

The reason the availability is not so good is not because they are holding anything back for the postal applications, but because these dates were already available on the previous mailing that came out in January.

In January they release a mailing for £9 hols in spring and autumn, and £15 hols in summer.

Then in April they re-do the summer £15 ones to sell off any that are left.

Then in August they usually do another to sell off any Sep to November dates still not sold.

It's worth remembering for next year to look out for the first offer of the year if you want summer holiday dates and top parks.

I've been booking these for 15 years so fairly used to it....;)

I dont recall seeing any August dates when I applied in january ?

is this the first time this year the August dates are available ?

Oh well, i am going to try and get something for august ,
will put down that we can go anywhere in devon / cornwall / isle of wight and hopefully get somewhere lol !

and if we dont i wont be too gutted,as it would be our 4th break this year !

Actually you may well be right....There were definitely £15 summer dates, and I only pay attention to June / July as I can't take hols in August, so there is a possibility that August was only included this time. I couldn't be certain.

Also - I've PM'd you, but not online again until midnight to see your reply.

    thanks helen,i have replied :)

Re dates: im pretty sure there werent aug dates or we would have gone for them ! I had to book early july
  • yes, i remember the first mailing of the year included summer holiday dates but i don't think any of them were in the school summer break. not sure though, at the time i didn't think we would be going away this year.

but i couldn't deprive my toddler of a beach holiday :D

heather the butlins we booked is minehead. the dates available when i looked were friday 20th july (our school is closed that day so we can set out early) and then friday 31st august (our schools are closed until the wednesday so travelling back on the monday night isn't a problem).

i'm really excited about this, we've never been to a butlins - always been out of our price range!

Thanks for letting me know, I will have a look at Minehead in a minute or 2. You will have a fab time at Butlins, we took my 7yr and 4yr old last year (they enjoyed it better than our family holiday away. The evening ents are good, and after the first night of having to dance with the kids, they were happy to go off on their own, (if you get to the venue b4 it opens you get seats next to the stage/ dance area and then the kids are visible and you can let them go and have a good time.
I do hope I can get in somewhere, they have been bugging me for weeks saying when are we going back to Butlins!!

Well I have booked 4 nights at Hemsby from 27th August. A friend of mine wanted to go with us, but with 6 kids between us we couldn't all fit on one form so I tried to book two like you could last time but it wouldn't let me :(.

I rang them and was told people were selling the hols on Ebay last time so they stopped it. Greed strikes again!

Looks like I might be holidaying alone with the kids again.
  • i tried to book a second time using my mum's ref but the site said 'you have already booked'. shame, because my sister left her form at her old house and it's been repossessed :(

so i answered my own question about booking twice. i've also considered things, and i think booking two consecutive holidays would have been greedy and may mean others missing out.

but it would have been nice for my sister to have a holiday at the same time as my mum and us.

sometimes sticher they contact you and say your friends and family can book an identical holiday to yours. haven have done that a couple of times.

Thanks Carmina. I have sent off my confirmation with a note asking if they could book in my friend too, but will wait and see.

Meanwhile I have read a few reviews on Hemsby and I am just hoping that they are extremely fussy people  Not good.

We went in 2005 and my kids and my nephew loved it ! :)

evening entertainment is good as mentioned BUT make sure you queue up early if you want a table at the front ,one of us would take it in turns to queue up lol

that way we could let the kids dance etc at the front and we could still see them / be close by :)
