We recently had a long weekend at Barmston Beach (Park Resorts) which was booked through the Sun. The caravan was nice & clean and the park itself well-kept & with good facilities. We usually do the Sun hols as extra breaks throughout the year and have been to Marton mere, Cayton Bay (twice) which were both nice. The only one I wouldn't recommend was Hemsby which was a bit basic to say the least. So anyone who's not sure wether to try these hols I'd say give one a go.

for those asking whether its worth it... if you're used to luxury holidays and want nothing but the best, then stear well clear. centreparcs it is not :rotfl:

but as a very cheap base for exploring a different part of the world, you cannot go wrong. if you want a budget holiday, then these really do fit the bill

one thing to be aware of is that some of the parks are in the middle of nowhere - if you're the type of person that will like the onsite entertainment then fine. if not, look for one which is more centrally based

  • Thanks for the words so far. Tomorrow sees the 5th word (including the one from the News of the Screws). The online booking site is closed at the moment and won't be open until Thursday, so looks like we'll all have to rush and book then. Staying close to home again this time.

  • Does anyone know if you can book and pay for 2 holidays online? I booked one holiday online last time and got my first choice and then my husband applied for a second holiday by post, just wondered if anyone had booked 2 online before????

Would love to go again as Butlins want £500 quid for 7 night break in July and thats in Basic accomodation so these holidays save us a small fortune!!

My local shop had sold out of papers by 10am yesterday mornings  so looks like there is going to be lots of people applying- thanks to those of you who have been posting the words for online aplications- I will get to the shop earlier today to make sure I get my copy though!!!
