I second (third?) the advice to go to the careers centre - I worked at one for a while and it provided services specifically for adults (as opposed to school leavers). They have lots of different CV templates (horses for courses and all that) but try to get an appointment with the advisor to go through content (and cut out all the crappy stating-the-obvious stuff
)
Personally, I have a one-liner at the top of my CV (under name and contact details) which states who and what I am (eg "A xxx with excellent xxx and xxx skills, and extensive experience of xxx for xxx-type company.) Hopefully this motivates the recruiter to put it in the "read" pile. Seems to have worked so far anyway.
Careers in my area only deal with 13-19 or to 25 if you are disabled.
They won't help people over 19 as far as I know.:beer:0 -
