    Lottee -

I'll happily send you mine when I get home (I'll remove all the detail but you can use it as a template). It's what everyone here uses as it's smart but functional.

PM me your e-mail addy and I'll dig it out for you.

If you think about it page one of your CV is:

    Name
    Address, phone number, Email

    post x... 00-02 then details
    post x ... 97-00 then details

Which is not really worth paying for as it is so simple.

I am sure someone will look it over for you here and help you get it good.

Sorry Phil, didn't mean to thank you; pressed trhe wrong button!

Please don't write a CV like you suggest above, it's terribly old fashioned and boring and won't get you very far. Chronological CVs are deathly dull and do little justice to current working practices. Skills based/functional CVs are far more dynamic and appropriate for the working world nowadays. Google will give you some good examples.

I couldn't agree less. As a recruiter I'm far more interested in a well written CV broken down into skills, qualifications and experience in chronological order.

Name, address, email-- all come under one section though to be fair.

so really more like 10 sections.

Those skills headings seemed to best fit my skills.

Hi - I'm qualified and have earned a living providing careers advice and guidance for mature people (funding from public sector).

In your situation I would find out how CVs are presented in Oz. It may be different from the way they are done in the UK. I don't have experience there but there can be differences - eg they may be known as resumes rather than CVs; you may be expected to provide social security information or that may be seen as a complete no-no, similarly with whether you put hobbies and family responsibilities on.

Have a look at Oz employment agency sites and see what advice they are giving to candidates.

What works for someone with no work experience and what works for someone with 11 years under their belt may well be very different.

    .
Note-- i am not saying it will. I was just pointing out my CV is more than a list.

But certainly a CV on skills might be better if you have only worked for one company to show your abilities even though you have only workd in one firm.

Layout isn't too far off what I reccommend, but I hate (and I mean hate) the objective and spare time sections, and that adjective list in the bottom right of each page is utterly meaningless. I'd rather see those things demonstrated in the at work section.

I'm afraid Eliza wouldn't give me a great first impression!
