Currently got a Mary Berry cake in the oven from last xmas glitches. Date on it was Feb 12 but all the stuff looked ok so thought id give it a whirl. ANyone else still got any?

Yes I have - been wondering whether to have a go - think I will but not til after half term which is next week for me. Let me know how you get on - did one last year and it was great - as were the xmas muffins but my god can't imagine what the calories were like in muffins judging by the amount of butter to be added (I am used to making muffins at home but never with that amount of butter). They did tast great tho' the buttericing wasn't too sweet - are they doing these again this year or did they all get their fingers stung going by the discounts?

Good morning

It's a bit dull in Porthleven this morning, took dog out for walk with the kids, who fought all the way round and then the dog jumped on ds2's bed with muddy paws so that was all 3 of us in trouble.

Off to Falmouth now see you later.

Weve only just come back from our 2 week holiday in porthleven, we go there every other year, we always rent the same house. we always go in october so we can take our dog on the beach...

the pasties from the bakers are well nice,, we ordered some to take home with us,, had lots of ice creams from naulti but ice,, and the pizza s in the deli are so tasty..

Good morning everyone.

Cups are usually used in USA recipes.

This list may help you:

http://www.cookieclubrecipes.com/bakingmeasurements.htm

It's so difficult to convert a cup to weight. A cup of flour won't weigh the same as a cup of butter etc

I bought some tupperware measuring cups and spoons from ebay years ago as I love so many of the american recipes I find online - and because I'm very lazy when it comes to converting a recipe (I have scales that are in grams as well as lbs and oz so I can use whatever system is called for lol)

I see lots of measuring cups for sale in the UK now. Not sure if they are equivilent to a US cup though. I have a feeling AUS cups are also different sizes to US cups but I may be wrong.

A US TBSP may also be different to a UK TBSP?
• zagubov, thank you, I will mention that to him, he has joined a Steert Dance club but is the only male. Unfortunately uni girls not interested in going out with someone looking 13/14. I'm sure he will come out of his shell soon as when he was in Air Cadets he used to go to all sorts of places and got his solo gliding certificate at 18. He also went to work at the Para Olympics and each time he was worried about going because he didn't know anyone but came back having had a great time.
CQ123, he is in a 6 bedded uni res, gets on with his flatmates but they are all heavily into drink & drugs something my son is not (thank goodness). They have no respect for other peoples things ie take what food they like from the fridge & cupboards, burn his pans etc. They have had so many fines for noise, filth and covering the smoke alarm with a bag, that they are talking about moving out, oh I hope so.

JJJ, don't worry I coined the term LUMP as there were a few of us in the nursing home that were vertically challenged so we became the LUMP society.:rotfl:

aww yr poor son can you move him somewhere eles if you or your son had word with the uni they will im sure find some where more suitable (dose yr son have to pay fines i hope not ?

Tried the coke late last night, but it didn't compare how I would have like :(

For x2 packs of 8 in A's £5.00, in M's £7.00

It has noticed the multi-buy, but not noticed they are half price in M's. Couldn't have been worse..

HTH.

My DD is in her last year at uni, she and 2 friends are planning on setting their own business up when they graduate. They have just heard they have been accepted for a special grant of £2500 to go towards business cards etc. They were 1 of 5 groups chosen for this. I am a very proud mummy.:j
