Hi all, I'm still catching up but hope everyone is ok :)

Went to T's yesterday after my 40 week midwife appointment as needed to just generally stock up before little ones arrival while I can still get out, now two days overdue

Anyway, getting really annoyed with myself at the moment, don't know if it is baby brain or what but my brain just doesn't seem to want to work properly anymore, I'm having to do my sums on paper to work it all out etc and then when there is a deal on I can't work it out :(

So, T's yesterday, £70+ odd on games/DVDs, get home to an email about how they've closed the entertainment website and it's now all part of direct so could have out in an order and used a code!

Also spent £40 on two tops and a pair of leggings which haven't tried on yet so may end up taking bits back but had I of bought them today I could of got a voucher for £5 off next weeks shop  plus all of the other food shopping I bought I could of got today

Getting really annoyed with my slow brain now, what I wanted to know is about the extra points with gift cards if anyone has any information on which ones they generally do that would be great, I'm after £50 game and probably £50 early learning centre but don't want to waste a trip if it's not a good deal...or with my luck, the deal has expired!

Hope everyone else is making up for my losses and getting some good bargains :D

I don't particularly like washing but it has to be done, I know if I go out for food and I just want a side salad he will get a face on as I make him look "cheap"

Ask for a lobster to go with it, you may see him in panic mode then.:)

Can't you call ahead, check it out, clean if necessary and then go and meet your OH? Just have the starter as your main meal. :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

He doesn't drive so he can't go ahead, it rare I find any starters I like :( I will order a chicken salad and give him the majority of the chicken :)

I know I've been given slow cooker advice in the past but I now have a more specific query if someone can indulge me. I have finally perfected spag bol but I'm not sure how the recipe would translate to a slow cooker. The recipe is -

Add carrots, celery, onions & garlic and cook on a low heat so they don't colour
Once the veg has softened, add the meat, cook until sealed and strain off any fat
Add a spoonful of tomato puree and mix well
Add water & stock pot and cook down until the liquid has evaporated
Add pasatta & herbs and once boiling, let it simmer for an hour or so.

Can this be achieved in a slow cooker? Thanks.

Hi worry-wart..I regularly cook spag bol for my boys in the slow cooker. If I have time, I usually brown the meat first then mix all other ingredients together and stick in slowcooker...I use two tins of toms and about 150 mls of stock as the wet ingredients.
So I think above will work without the water :)

    Soup anyone?:rotfl::rotfl:

I'm not fond of soup, what I really want for my dinner is a mug of bovril, not had bovril for years but I really have a fancy for it now
