O/H just asked if we can go out to eat too, I'm not keen on eating out :(

Can't you call ahead, check it out, clean if necessary and then go and meet your OH? Just have the starter as your main meal. :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

I know I've been given slow cooker advice in the past but I now have a more specific query if someone can indulge me. I have finally perfected spag bol but I'm not sure how the recipe would translate to a slow cooker. The recipe is -

Add carrots, celery, onions & garlic and cook on a low heat so they don't colour
Once the veg has softened, add the meat, cook until sealed and strain off any fat
Add a spoonful of tomato puree and mix well
Add water & stock pot and cook down until the liquid has evaporated
Add pasatta & herbs and once boiling, let it simmer for an hour or so.

Can this be achieved in a slow cooker? Thanks.

Save the mince and use some stewing/casserole steak... and leave it for a few hours at least.

Am not really a fan of their tea but did complain a couple of years back with a fantastic result I thought! I bought their hot chocolate and it looked amazing, lots of small chocolate curls, I expected heaven in a mug. Unfortunately, it wasn't, quite plain really :( so I told them it wasn't what I expected and they sent me £7 of MOC to give them another try!!
