Just back from work via sada... Bit of a trouting. Male SA decided that a £13.64 Apg on a £21 spend wasn't right so questioned me. I mentioned that deodorant was way cheeper in tescos hence most of the refund. That when over his head so he called over a superviser who okaye it all. We were then chatting about the waitrose glitch quite happily while the sour faced SA struggled to input the voucher (I guess the 999 barcode totally fried his mind). Superviser then said to the SA 'u think that's a big one, we had some for £27 a while back'. My sada was obviously lightly hit if that was the best they had!
Anyhow the best bit was when my shopping happened to also come to £13.64... No this finished off the SA who was in a right flop trying to decide what do...

worry-wart wrote: »I know I've been given slow cooker advice in the past but I now have a more specific query if someone can indulge me. I have finally perfected spag bol but I'm not sure how the recipe would translate to a slow cooker. The recipe is -
Add carrots, celery, onions & garlic and cook on a low heat so they don't colour
Once the veg has softened, add the meat, cook until sealed and strain off any fat
Add a spoonful of tomato puree and mix well
Add water & stock pot and cook down until the liquid has evaporated
Add pasatta & herbs and once boiling, let it simmer for an hour or so.
Can this be achieved in a slow cooker? Thanks.
As a slow cooker lover, there are two steps to this recipie that will not work in a slow cooker if you wish to do the one stop cook, the cook meat and strain off fat, and the evaporating of the liquid.
HOwever. Perfectly possible if your happy to do in steps and have to 'attend' to the cooking,
Do your meat first. Mince goes rather mushy if cooked too long. Strain and keep to one side. Id maybe add my herbs here to add flavour to the mince, but up to you,
Chuck in your veg and a very small amount of water and stock pot.
Once these cooked, take off the lid and let it thicken slightly as desired.
Chuck the mince, tom puree in, stir well.
Add passata and herbs etc and let bubble for a bit.

We're having Dominos for dinner
Haven't had take away in over a week so think we deserve it, that plus someone posted a half price for over £20 spend on pizza so the left overs will do lunch tomorrow. DS has already put the order through, had to show him how to go through quidco to get a few pennies cash back. He was shocked that I've 'spent' over £100 from the middle of August, told him that was nothing compared to others and I usually forgot to click through any cash back site.SPC #329 £471/£500 banked
SPC 2014 £1100:D
