  • I dragged Mr MWC to Lidl, Home Bargains AND Sainsburys this morning - he may be traumatised for some time :rotfl:

£43.38 spent on this week's groceries.

    Grocery challenge = [STRIKE]£251.67[/STRIKE] 295.05/£315

£20 of nectar points remaining - I think I'll roll these over to next year's challenge and set a grocery budget of £250 for March.

  • It's a dad-free Sunday and we have a doing-day planned:

    - lots of laundry
    - decluttering/tidying/putting things away
    - cleaning
    - getting ready for the week ahead

3 meals this week will come from the bowls! book:

    - Budapest bowl: mushroom barley pilaf + paprika-braised chicken + dilled white beans + sweet pepper slaw + sour cream + dill
    - Addis Ababa Lane bowl: kasha-style buckwheat + brown onion split peas + turmeric vegetables + shredded romaine salad + farmer/cottage cheese
    - Tuna on Toasted Quinoa bowl: toasted quinoa pilaf + tuna + steamed beets with their greens + cannellini beans + hard-boiled egg + mustard vinaigrette + olives + radishes

Mmm I'm making myself hungry :rotfl:

6 loads of laundry done
Christmas decorations finally stored in loft :o
Difficult to reach light bulb replaced and, on the off-chance, I wiggled 3 bulbs in another light fitting before replacing them and they still work :T

  • The Budapest bowl (mushroom barley pilaf + paprika-braised chicken + dilled white beans + sweet pepper slaw + sour cream + dill) was lush - bit of a faff but we're already looking to the next time we eat it :rotfl:

Mr MWC is flying to Sweden tomorrow morning for a 3-day business trip - he's packed a spare pair of pants in case he gets snowed in :rotfl: That is of course if he (a) manages to get to Heathrow and (b) the flight isn't cancelled.

  • Mr MWC arrived safely in Sweden where it's currently -10C feels like -19C

I had to fill up with petrol this morning so I popped into Sainsbury's for 4 pints of milk, a loaf of bread and some F&V. I left the milk in my car all day and it was partially frozen by the time I got home

I sold a box of eggs today for £1.50 :j

    He's home :kisses2:

Albeit after a delayed departure, waiting over an hour for his luggage and then getting stuck in a traffic jam on the motorway... and only until he heads back to the airport on Sunday afternoon...
