Well done on the payments.NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0 -
It's been a spendy day and, with hindsight, I wish I hadn't OP'd quite so much yesterday...
I took my little car to the Fiat dealer 20 miles away to fix the overheating issue. As they didn't have a courtesy car available and I had 6 hours to kill, I walked 2.5 miles to an outlet mall and then stopped at a garden centre on the way back.
Gap (shirts x 5, jumpers x 3, scarf) £120
TK Maxx (swimsuit, storage jars/tins for Christmas hampers x 7) £30
Garden centre (seeds x 4, thyme plant, rocket seedlings, a packet New Berry Fruits for Mr MWC) £20
I was having a lovely time until I got a phone call from the mechanic... unfortunately the car needs a new head gasket, timing belt, thermostats, coolant and oil... £1,053.69 :eek::eek:
I need to magic up some cash before Tuesday as I refuse to pay a 2% CC handling charge

 Ouchie at that bill. I think I would have been tempted to take it somewhere else for a second opinion. Hope you can find the money to save incurring the charge.
Well done on the gym & steps though!0 -
I did think about it BW; however, the local garage I normally use couldn't find anything wrong with it when they looked!
I also didn't want to risk blowing the engine up by driving it home in rush hour traffic, on a Friday and on the day the schools broke up for half-term... Mr MWC came to pick me up :kisses3:Mortgage at highest (April 2008): ~£195,000

Gosh how frustrating - feel your pain
Don't blame you for being wary of driving it home. Awww at Mr MWC :T
