Hope you're on the mend - get back there quickly if not. Does it hurt more if you have a hot drink than a cold one?

Not really - why? It hurts if I have a hot drink, a lukewarm drink, a cold drink or no drink at all!

Codeine-based painkillers have turned me into a zombie, a zombie with toothache :(

Bargain t-shirt arrived and, despite being lovely, has still failed to cheer me up!

Back to the dentist tomorrow if there is no improvement.

If they can't see a problem when you go back tomorrow MWC then make a doctor's appointment instead. My Mum had really bad toothache a few years ago, couldn't see anything wrong, multiple visits to the dentist while they tried to work out what was wrong with her, eventually went to the Doctor who diagnosed arthritis in her jaw!! Three hours after she took the first anti-inflammatories and she was feeling better than she had in nearly a month.

Just because it feels like your teeth, doesn't necessarily mean that it will be them :(

    Mortgage-free Glee!
So sorry you are in so much pain. Definately would recommend doctors if it doesn't settle. Take care.

  • Thanks BB and Earthgirl, I'll bear that in mind. If it's an abscess, the antibiotics should kick in tomorrow...

When I had an abscess it hurt more when I had a hot drink. Dentist said that was because of the gas being given off by the infection expanding in the heat but having nowhere to go :(_pale_

MWC, I hope it can get sorted really soon. If the hot drink thing didn't work, then it sounds similar to Gally's problem - hope the antibiotics kick in Real Soon Now :(
2023: the year I get to buy a car
  • :j I'm pain-free :j

5 hours ago I was in agony and nearly in tears when dentist no. 2 told me that the full x-ray he'd just taken showed no holes or cracks in my teeth, no abscess and no problems with my jaw or sinuses :(

He has removed an old filling and replaced it with a temporary filling containing oil of cloves and amazingly the pain has gone :T
