Making chicken feed of my mortgage

Thanks Tilly
I'm on my lonesome again - Mr MWC is in the Czech Republic for 3 days
I went out for lunch with my colleagues today - really glad I wasn't paying as it was VERY disappointing. I choose aubergine stuffed with mushrooms, spinach and curried houmous served with a mixed salad... I got half a baked aubergine topped with fried mushrooms and wilted spinach served on a tablespoon of houmous that had been smeared across the plate, and a mixed leaf garnish... £16  That's why we don't eat out very often - Mr MWC spoils me and I'm nearly always disappointed as I eat better at home.

Fabulous money news and flipping heck, well done on the steps!! :T
PS. Rhubarb and vanilla jam sounds to die for, yum yum yum.
PPS. I'm in major catchup mode, looking forward to getting properly up to speed with MWC-land! Hope all has been well xxa penny picker upper. Perhaps the chef doesn't work Mondays... but, if so, why have a specials board?! My friend had ham, egg & chips... ham looked like it was prepacked, fried eggs were overcooked and the chips didn't look very nice BUT they were served in a little metal bucket! :huh:Mortgage at highest (April 2008): ~£195,000

I hate it when you go out for a meal and are disappointed - all you're asking for is nice food!Be who you are and say what you feel because those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind.

The meal sounds revolting all the way round, MWC! The only meals I really go out for are family - and then its either a nice pub, or a *really* posh restaurant in a very small village that we know. Things are a little over-salted for my mum's taste sometimes, but I think we've chosen good places, and its nice to support them regularly

Manic day yesterday...
Best thing: saw lots of people I haven't seen since before the weight loss and they were very complimentary
Worst things: ate loads of rubbish, been dumped in it a bit by a US colleague and ended up reviewing stuff for him until late last nightI could just let him get on with it but if he messes up it would reflect badly both internally and externally to the supplier (the people I have to work with on a daily basis). He's a nice chap really just doesn't have a clue about the day to day practical stuff...

Your tea sounds much nicer than the manky lunch.

Hello, hello, hello
Oh dear, I found my diary at the bottom of page 4
Brief update from me:
- we had a fabulous 25,000 step day in London on Saturday for Mr MWC's birthday - street food for lunch at Broadway Market, an afternoon wine tasting at a Naked Wines tasting event, a restorative pot of tea, cocktails and then a 5 course meal at Theo Randall at the InterContinental
- Mr MWC flew to the US of A on Sunday - he's away for 8 nights
- Miss LRH is a little under the weatherThe vet couldn't find anything wrong but she is on a course of antibiotics just in case *fingers crossed*
- My car passed its MOT after the purchase of 2 new tyres (the rear tyres had been an advisory for the past 3 years so not entirely unexpected!)
