At long last I have a mortgage spreadsheet... and now I can't stop playing with it :rotfl:

If we OP £1000 per month every month for the next 7 years, we will be mortgage free just before my 50th birthday :T

Mr MWC says we can go to the Maldives for my 50th birthday :j

Dinner tonight was another recipe from my RC wish list - winter stir fry (carrot, parsnip, sprouts, mushrooms) with Chinese five spice - superb :D

I've given up trying to darn the hole in my favourite cashmere cardie so tonight I will be ironing on and stitching elbow patches!

What a good idea. I always get them under the arms. Patches would look a bit daft there.

Oven-roasted roots frittata & a rocket salad for dinner

So far all the recipes we've tried have been keepers :T:T:T
    I :heart2: autumn/winter food - squash, root vegetables, pulses, slow-cooked meat, soups...

I've been looking through my RC cookbooks and drooling :rotfl:

    On the menu soon:

    Parsnip & thyme soda bread
Split pea & ham soup - tick - was already a favourite recipe in the MWC household
    Sausage & root veg stew
Oxtail with cinnamon & star anise
Shin of beef with ginger & soy
Pot-roast pheasant with chorizo, butter beans & parsley
5-root soup with bacon - no tick yet but again this is a recipe we make frequently
    Thyme and caramelised onion mash
    Squash & fennel lasagne
3-root boulangere with big baked mushrooms - no tick yet but will probably make on Friday as I have all the ingredients (well I will after the veg box is delivered tomorrow)
Spelt salad with squash & fennel
Roasted parsnip, puy lentil & watercress salad
Warm salad of mushrooms & roasted squash
    Porotos granados
    Parsnip & ginger soup
    Chestnut & sage soup
Pearl barley broth - I'll make this for dinner tomorrow as Mr MWC is going to his dad's
Cannellini bean & leek soup with chilli oil - tick
    Oven-roasted roots frittata - tick
    Mushroom risoniotto
    Leek risotto with chestnuts
Winter stir-fry with Chinese five spice - tick
Roasted roots with apple & rosemary
Sausage & puy lentil hotpot with prunes - tick

The split pea & ham soup is first - just off to defrost a gammon shank and soak some yellow split peas :D

  • Hi MWC

    Just catching up.

Congratulations on your award (and the vouchers).

Nice haul from your Dad's - hope you have got places to put it all. My wedding dress is still in the loft - I really must get a proper box to put it in (3 1/2 years on).

Meals sound yum...I wish I could get DH to eat veggie occassionally.

We both :heart2: vegetables (although not as much as my brother - he's vegan!) and even when we do eat meat it is only a small portion :)

Mr MWC: "I'll have quite a bit of money left at the end of the month."
    "About £1,000."
    Me: *Looks expectantly*
Mr MWC: "Yes, you can have it!"
