Hello,
I am about to write to Halifax for my previous statements. However I have had two accounts with them, one of which has been closed down. Will I have to send off two letters (one for each) or will they return statements for both?
I also have lost the account number for the closed account. If I need to provide them with this how can I find this out?
any help with these questions will be appreciated.0 -

Thanks very much,
Clare
I would say it looks okay and as one amount is reasonably small I would think its okay to put the two together.0 -

One letter will be fine, put in your full personal details and give the one account number but ask that they provide the data on any information they are holding for you which should throw up the closed account as well. I would state that you have held two accounts with them.0 -
I intend to complete the form on the Moneyclaim website and submit it this evening.
Do I need to send anything to the bank at this stage? In the particulars of claim, it says that I will send a further schedule of charges?
Also, do I need to send the spreadsheets where I've worked out the 8% interest to anyone?
Thanks in advance

Hi there,
Anyone know if I can relaim charges made on the above current account. They charge £5 per month, plus interest on an authorised overdraft irrespective of how much or how little you go overdrawn.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks AnnieP0 -
As the title states what do I need to do next ??
Thanks in advance0 -
Hi folks.
You are NOT legally entitled to the interest before it goes to court. However if you win in court you WILL get the interest. Yet pre-letters are negotiation letters - hence the settlement option letter. Therefore by asking for the interest before hand you are pushing hard. Some may choose not to do this.
As its causing confusion I will amend the article to make this clearMartin Lewis, Money Saving Expert.

I've been very brave and submitted my claim on Moneyclaim. I ended up having to do as two claims - mainly for reasons of space (just couldn't get it down to 24 lines!) but I think it makes it a lot clearer. I just opened up the pdf of the claim and couldn't believe it in print! I used to type these out for other people!
Can't wait to see what happens next!

Newby here !! Hi to everyone.
I have considered this action for a while now. I am with Halifax and when I was poor they robbed me which escalated until I lost my current account and was downgraded to a solo card. Had money problems and the last thing I needed was Halifax charging me £30 every 5 mins. Halfax credit card was the same - I have an agreement with them at the moment where my interest has been frozen. Shall I write to them both? There is a good few hundred pounds in charges but I guess I worry about having to get another bank account in light of my credit rating. Is it possible just to get a basic account with no credit search? Thanks for the support and your advice.

during the years of '99 to April '03 I was unmercifully charged by the halifax, barclays and royal bank of scotland. At which point i went bankrupt. i was discharged from my bankruptcy in April '05. If I left these banks unpaid because of my bankruptcy would I still be able to claim against them. I still feel bitter against them as I feel they was a contributing factor to my bankruptcy!0
