Trying to record BBC Listen Again
Comments
-
Listen again, via iPlayer, is now much higher quality sound. I still record using a USB FM transmitter and a good 'ol cassette recorder in the music system for transferring to car. Have yet to hear of an equally convenient and high quality alternative method.0

I'm using freecorder which sticks a toolbar on your browser & it's a matter of press9ing the record button.
The only oddity is that you have to start freecorder recording before you start the program0 -
Probably similar to Audacity in function, only you have to ensure that other Windows sounds are silenced. Audacity has a settable timer so you can smart the recording then forget it till done. I will try Audacity with BBC iPlayer some time to see what the quality is like. Pity it has to be decoded from mp3 to audio then encoded again....0

Post #21 is just a copy and paste compilation of post #4 and post #10.

With the recent migration of Radio to BBC iPlayer this topic has been reawakened I suppose.0

It's now two years old!!
I'm just wondering if anyone has an update on the best downloader thing?
I've just got my first ipod :T and I'm trying to set it up. I really miss Jeremy Vine each day so got the ipod so I could download a podcast & listen the following day, however, Jeremy doesn't have a podcast
And I was really disappointed to hear Chris Evans' podcast doesn't include most of the show - and it only comes out once a week
Thanks in advance.0 -
Any explicit solution to this problem, where BBC license fee payers have the temerity to want to listen to their favourite shows on - shock horror - "portable equipment!!" would be illegal and jumped upon by one or another MSE policy following killjoy! Having said that, do PM me if you find the answer!0

I use BBC Radio Ripper. It is utterly brilliant, it downloads the Real Audio file and converts it to mp3 in a lot quicker than real (pun not intended) time.
Not free but there is a trial version which allows 30 minute downloads. Full version costs $30
