Ive read lots about Parking eye but cannot find any after 1st October 2012. My daughter is 17 and received a letter for a parking charge of £125, reduced to £75 if she pays by the 19th October 2012. Is it still safe to ignore? Please help

The reason is because nothing has really changed.
Just ignore it as before, or appeal to POPLA and cost them some money, then ignore!

I know it says pay by the 19th but was the fake ticket given before 1st October ? And if she is 17 then legally she cannot enter into a contract, and if you were to write to them they will have to drop it otherwise you report them to trading standards, the dvla and the police and bpaExcel Parking, MET Parking, Combined Parking Solutions, VP Parking Solutions, ANPR PC Ltd, & Roxburghe Debt Collectors. What do they all have in common?
They are all or have been suspended from accessing the DVLA database for gross misconduct!
Do you really need to ask what kind of people run parking companies?0 -
Thank you both for your promp reply, I have already told her to ignore it as ive read the info on this site. I was a bit worried as I know something had changed after the 1st October, she received the parking charge on 5th October and she is till 17, 18 next week.0

Folks, we have a clear breach of the BPA Code of Practice here. Charges exceeding £100 are required to be cleared in advance with the BPA.
Hands up everyone who believes that Parking Spy cleared this one in advance.
Would be an interesting one for POPLA.Je suis Charlie.0 -

Would it still apply as its reduced to £75 if its paid within 14 days (not that im paying it)! and what is POPLA? Thank you in advance.0 -
Yes, the arbitrary £100 charge is before the oh-so-generous "discount".
POPLA = "Parking on Private Land Appeals", a supposedly independent service for appealing this rubbish. It should be described on the notice you've received. It's another breach if it isn't.Je suis Charlie.0 -
There is no point doing anything as in paying, she is under 18, legally she cannot enter into a contract which this is, inform them that she is a minor in the eyes of the law, so therefore she cannot enter into any contract, send them an email stating that. They MUST drop it, there is no argument.Excel Parking, MET Parking, Combined Parking Solutions, VP Parking Solutions, ANPR PC Ltd, & Roxburghe Debt Collectors. What do they all have in common?

I'd take it to POPLA before dropping that little bombshell! Make the beggars work (and pay) before pulling the rug from under them.Je suis Charlie.0
