Looked at the online application today and they show this statement on the application page -

Please note that Issue 15 of our Fixed Rate Savings product will close shortly. A new issue will launch on 8 November 2012. Please call 0808 001 1111 on or after 8 November for further details. If you wish to make a deposit at the current rates of interest please submit your application before 8 November 2012.

I wouldn't say that. Everyone is reducing interest rates and I find it unlikely that M&S will be increasing theirs.

No suggestion of an increase from me Gromitt.

If you were in a position to invest straight away then it would be whether one could risk waiting for Thursday and (probably) see the rate go down or (possibly) a change in the terms and conditions which removed the early access with penalty option...

Has anyone tried to invest in this recently? If so how fast are they managing to process postal applications at the moment? Just applied yesterday and wondering how quickly the cheque will be presented. Am aware that apparently closing issue 15 tomorrow.

New rates are out. 2.7 for 3 years. That's quite a drop!
