The only truly unlimited broadband is Sky, every other company has a limit

    You are wrong. ;)

Come on, tell us if there is any other ISP who provides truly unlimited broadband. Don't keep it to yourself :P

    BE Broadband. :)

Yes - people will point out that technically they have a Fair Usage Policy in the T&Cs ... I have been with them almost 5 years and it has never been applied to my connection. The only times it has EVER been used is:

    a) When members on specific exchanges suffering temporary congestion have been asked to moderate their usage during peak hours (only during the period of congestion, until the link was upgraded). This is a very rare occurrence.

    b) I recall one instance of someone being censured for using their connection and the BE email server to send SPAM emails.

250 GB per month wouldn't even warrant a passing glance at BE. And they do not traffic shape in any way at any time, or block any ports.

    HTH. :)

I use wireless broadband with Exwavia and one of their technicians told me that fair usage policy alarm bells start ringing when customers download in terabytes

250 GB monthly cap is not enough for me.

I don't need "that's so much, how are you using it?" (I'm not trying to be funny, sorry)

It's just not enough :( I used 250 GB in 20 days without breaking a sweat.

You'll go blind, you know. ;)

    How is this wrong ?

One company states they are genuinely unlimited -all the others have limits ( even if very generous) that they *can* inflict ! (Can and do are not the same but if the condition is there a company can change policy and enforce at any point and there's no comeback)

It always amazes me how many people assume usage is only what you physically download and keep and don't realise even watching media online contributes to usage though ! I've lost count how many people on lighter usage plans who get hit don't realize that game playing or youtube have knocked them over their limit that I speak to at work.

    250 gb in 20 days!!!.

You must be a serious torrent download/upload to have that much used in 20 days.

What other reason is there, watching on demand programs or youtube certainly wont use that much.

Is limits not the first thing a serious downloader would look at ?

OP did you have problems regarding usage with your previous provider and your current one has already warned you to slow down.
