Online flower not as described

Quite frankly their commission/service charge is of no relevance. When you order goods, irrespective of how you service orders you should receive what you order and the selling retailer will usually be responsible for any failings of their sub contractors.
Personally I'd accept the 50% and move on, despite it not being as large as hoped - it sounds like a fair sized bunch which hopefully the recipient was pleased with...
The company they ordered from may not have given the florist the full value. and they may not have even told the shop that the customer is looking at a picture with 5 roses and 5 lilies. The florist is told fill to value with lilies and roses.. and also told ok to sub if you don't have those flowers. The order gatherer doesnt' care if your person gets what you wanted them to have. they got their service fee. IF you complain they refund you 50% (what they sent the florist) and file a refund request with the flower shop. The shop then is out for an order they filled properly but the OG got his money so he doesn't care.
The service charge can be avoided by calling the local shop. and then you know whats in stock and the price and will be much happier.0 -

Highly unlikely the florist don't know what's been ordered.
You may find these companies benefit from economies of scale and can offer the goods at a competitive price, despite the split in where the money goes.0 -

oh it happens. I own a flower shop. the OG company doesn't give you the customers info to put the credit card info thru so they can tell the customer it will be 50 .. then take their cut and send the florist 30 or 40. Its why I refuse all OG ordered and let my customers know how to avoid them. The companies can't offer goods at competive prices because they have no goods! they are a service only.. they bank on you not wanting to phone personally and being willing to pay their sending fee/service fee and they don't care what gets sent. Calling the local florist will get you someone who cares because its their store rep on the line.0 -

I totally agree with Melissa, as I also am a flower shop owner.
There are many online ordering companies such as eFlorist who are taking a large slice of YOUR money.
This can be usually 25% plus the Fee of approx £7-90 ,
I had a phone call last week from this company, all I was told was that they had the total of £37 to include delivery, and that the item was a vased display to include pink/peach and cream roses, pink/peach and cream carnations and lissianthus with bear grass loops.
When I checked there website out to see what was wanted I found this eflorist co uk pink-serenity
cost £49-95 plus £7-95 delivery, total cost £57-90 and they want to give me £37 in total!
No way can I make this arrangement in the vase and deliver 12 miles away for £37, so I rejected that order, now the florist in the next street may not have checked through the website and sent out their own version of roses, carnations and beargrass in a vase, and it may not look anything like the photo.
I have spent a lot of time and money having my own website built, and my customers order through that knowing what they are getting for their money.
Please please use a florist local to the recipient0
