I've had quite a long break from MSE and unfortunately my finances show it all too well
I had just got myself into a situation where i was coping with things well and I suppose my priorities changed. After slipping into bad ways again and working hard on other priorities i have managed to get my bum back into MSE land for the past week and already things are looking up again
This time round i'm going to try and keep this dairy in the hopes it helps me deal with the chaos of my mental ill health and rather significant organisation issues - if i keep it all in the one place i may find it easier to keep track
So here i am at the start of another part of the debt free journey - I am slowly managing to check out and start using the money making and saving sites i became so fond of before and have been delighted to find there is still some pennies building up. I have also started taking some major steps towards getting back in control of the debt monster again.
So far this week I have managed to:
Its been a busy but productive start

Its amazing what a little bit of focus can do - i have managed to make about £130 in the past week just from getting back on the £10 a day thread - its all little bits here and there but it soon mounts up

Apart from the financial benefits of making a bit extra i also feel like i'm starting to sort out long needed changes in my life. I sat down with my OH and ended our relationship - its needed doing for at least a year tbh and hard as it was its done now and the future is filled with different options now - bit scary, bit exciting, and a whole lot of mystery - who knows what it will hold now

Wow Fairy, sounds like you have been through a lot and splitting up with DH. That's a big step too, but obviously the right one for you.
Well done on getting your bum back into gear and into money making

Awwwwww hello Aesop
How are you doing huni? Lovely to log in and see your post
Yes i have been through the wars in some ways and others, well i have been working on the business a lot - its hard going but i'm hopeful it will get there in the end
. I've also just been trying to do some spring cleaning in my life if you know what i mean - feels quite good to take the leap of faith it needed to start the new direction
I'm glad to be back and trying to get my head back into MSE mode too - I've quite a bit of catching up to do lol!
Today i'm checking a few accounts - just doing a few a day or i would be sitting here for the whole day trying to remember passwords and driving myself insane :rotfl:
What you up to yourself? still ticking over with all your wee earnies?

Whew! Been fleabaying like a loony today and now have 70 items listed :j I did cheat and just change the pic on about 30 items mind you and will probably have to go back and add some details - but at least they are on.
I listed a pile of things on fb too and have had a few more 'can i haves' but not adding anything until the money is in.
Have managed to do a few of my positive steps today too so far and going to try and do a few more things. I have been feeling awful today but glad to have got a wee shimmy on and got some stuff done
I'm debating about ringing sky now too to sort that ridiculous bill - £70 i was charged last month :eek::eek: time to get that sorted. If i feel up to it i may even ring orange as well - i believe my contract is up in Nov and so i think it might be deal time with them
Now i just need to sort out my fear of using the phone for long enough to make the calls
- at least i'm thinking about it

I have got so much done today - I started off with 5 positive steps i wanted to achieve and i feel like i have got through about 20
:D I deliberately started working on the things i had been putting off all week and just started working down the list. It felt like i unblocked something by doing it somehow.
One of the major things i had been struggling with was sorting out craft orders i had received weeks ago - i just got overwhelmed i think as i get them all at the same time and i just didn't know what i was doing
I even managed to get some control over this today and managed to do something i had been struggling to do for weeks - actually sort out the orders i had completed and put them together ready for collecting/delivery. It sounds so simple but i had such a bad case of frozen brain syndrome i literally couldn't figure out how to do it.
Another huge hurdle for me today was to ring Orange about my contract ending - i was right in thinking it ends in November and so they offered me a pretty good deal. I wanted to just go with it but i know if i ring O2 i will probably get another little bump when i say what orange has offered
I'm so proud of myself for having rang them in the first place and then actually decide to do something that means i have to make another call - i'm hoping its worth all the stress
Finally another hurdle i have successfully negotiated today was to get some paperwork together to send in to DLA. I have been putting that one off all week not really knowing where to start as well.
All in all its been a very productive day

:eek::eek: This is the post i have been dreading - writing a list of my debts
It has to be done though and i know they have gone down since the first time i did this so will be interesting to see how much
In no particular order:
Rates - £137.55
Mortgage arrears - £566.24
Avon - £515
First Trust OD - £500??
CC 1 Egg - £1824.12
CC 2 Egg - £1494.03
CC1 MBNA - £3596.80
CC2 MBNA - £3160.24

Whew i'm so busy doing this old MSE malarky........I am working through some major things atm and i know it will settle down a bit soon but i'm just wiped out for now!
I have just spent 6 hrs sorting out my DLA stuff - yes there is that much of it, which in a way is good because it hard to argue with so much evidence - well thats what i'm hoping anyway
Thats probably been one of the hardest things i've done since getting back on the MSE bandwagon - its just not good to have to see all your medical problems in black and white
I'd much rather be fit and healthy and able to work!! Anyway at least now i can pack it all away in the don't need to think about this now section of my brain for a while again, and let myself focus on some more positive things.
I have managed to make a few £ today - couple of wee ebay sales which means another little bit of room in the house
Have got a bit more room cleared but soooooooooooo much more to go - will be great to see it making a difference in the house as well as paying off a few bills with any luck

Another busy day in store for me today, packing up sales, going to post office, taking evidence stuff to DLA peeps - doesn't sound like much but it will freak me out completely cos i have to organise myself, find things, pack them, GO OUT to the post office :eek: then GET ON A TRAIN :eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek: GO TO TOWN :eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek: and hand in evidence stuff :eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek:
then come home again as quickly as possible and lie down to recover
Definitely a diazepam day

WOW!!!! I had such an amazing day yesterday

I have been trying really hard to work through the BIG things on my positive steps challenge list and the hard work is really starting to pay off
I managed to get my dla evidence stuff in - will probably take about 8 weeks to hear anything from that, but i'm just happy to have got the next step over and done with - it was such a huge task for me but i did it
I also managed to ring up about my mobile contract - it was due to finish on 9th nov and so i have been doing a bit of research - I use the phone a lot so a contract is usually the best option for me, but i have been paying £45 - £50 a month and it had to go. I negotiated like a pro - ringing different companies and not letting them put the order through at the last minute, keep pushing for a bit more and a bit more in true MSE style. In the end i got one of the latest 4g phones which isn't out until next week for free at £30 a month, unlimited calls and tx and 1.5 gig data AND a £50 voucher :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: The guy was just laughing by the end of the call
I also got some orders delivered to the craft shop and had made some sales while i was there so had a few £ to collect. I had a great chat with the owner too and we are really developing a nice friendship now
I also made 12 sales on my website!!!! LOL! crazy how that can happen all at once
Oh and i got a delivery of fabby wool too so got another scarf finished
What else??? Oh went to see my mum and told her about OH and I breaking up and broke the news gently that i won't be staying here (though was pretty subtle so she didn't freak out completely :rotfl:), contacted a couple of people about appointments and managed to lodge some more money into my account
and went for a walk as well!
Its amazing the difference it makes when i take diazepam
