Dont forget that the onus can be on the owner (if he has one)to be searching for their cat. Back in Nottingham I knew a lady who never advertised when she found a cat, but thoroughly checked the lost adverts/notices. She reckoned if someone was not bothered to advertise their cat as being lost, they didn't deserve it back. Although I slightly agree, its hard on somebody whose cat may have been missing for a long time.
Not neutered means no wonder the poor thing got lost!

  • No Froglet I'm secretly hoping that they are not feeling the same as I have when one of ours have gone missing over the years! I really hope that they see the poster, or that I see whatever they put up and I can reunite them because despite not being neutured or chipped he is very loving and confident, so they must have been doing something right since they have owned him. I reckon him to be about 5 or 6 months by the way, so that could be why he is still not done.

Sometimes cats can be friendly and loving because of nice children in the family, nothing to do with the adults.

  • Just a quick update on the little cat I found, well, he is still here!!! Jabs under way, worming and de-flea-ing done, booked in for neutering. Yep I gave up looking for posters and filling in forms on missing pets sites, he has been here since 10th October so I reckon he could have been dumped, who knows really, but at least he is well loved, very easy really as he is so laid back and follows us round like a little dog. He is getting on OK with our cat, she keeps him in line, and he is very interested in our old dog, goes up and gives him a sniff, or sits right next to his bowl when he is having his dinner, watching him intently!! He has been named Houdini Foundling, as this kind of fits with our girl Zombie Moonboots (youngest son's idea, nowt to do with me) And that's that, as I said before, I only went out for sausages!

Another little life saved by a wonderful kind person. It's a good job the caring people of this world outnumber the cruel ones.

At least i hope they do.Sometimes it's doubtful but always lovely to hear of people like you who don't turn away or walk on by.
  • Pleased that he is now in a lovely home with you and getting on well , a happy ending for a lucky cat .
  • Aaawh! Now I'm blushing!! Always been like that, all our dogs and cats are and have been foundlings or rescue over the last near 30 years!!It crosses over into humans too, had a foster son we took in off our door step for six and a half years, until he broke our hearts (long story, and because it was a private arrangement we got no help from SS or the council financial or otherwise) and I used to take in a boy and feed him fifteen years ago, most school nights when he was locked out of his family home ( the flat above where we had a flat) I would find him huddled up in the doorway, summer GREAT, winter, would you leave a dog out in it? The times I told his mother, you can't just keep leaving him to fend for himself, he was a good kid, and he was in my eldest boys class, she would pretend she couldn't understand me, they were portugese, they seemed to do all right for new shiny things though and they did claim benefits, all in all small cats that are very cuddly are a lot flippin easier lol!! I hope I have taught my boys one thing, don't walk on by......
