change and can still use same recipes...they just taste even better.
plus the biggest benefit of eating organic for me also is knowing what I am eating doesn't contain carcinogenic / mutagenic pesticide residues or human poo! This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
Re-opening of part of Borough Market on the ITV News at the moment. Keep meaning to go there.

Well then. Just popped to my nearby Sainsbury Local for organic eggs (cheaper in Morrisons but tonight that had to do me) and organic milk. I decided to have a look at their bread, although I eat so little of it anyway. They have organic wholemeal, but on reading the ingredients I decided to pass on it.
Sunflower oil, for example. When cold pressed and properly bottled, it is a wonderful thing. But in cooking or baking??? Forget it. All the polyunsaturated fats it had will have been turned into dangerous lipid by the baking process.
Then extra gluten. I'm not allergic to it, but too much if it ain't good for anyone.
Then SUGAR!! !!!!!!?? My father was a baker with his own shop and back of shop ovens and he started from scratch. The only sugar he used was for pastries, NEVER for bread. No wonder so many people think they are eating healthy yet the overweight (or worse) stays put.Be careful who you open up to. Today it's ears, tomorrow it's mouth.0 -
OH is on his way back from Lidl having secured pine nuts, pumpkin seeds, sunflower seeds, his Rachel's organic yoghurts but sadly no Connells Bakery no added sugar yeast free wholemeal soda bread (500g, 99p) as they had run out.
Just done an Ocado order for tomorrow night as my usual Saturday morning slot had gone  Saved 14.20 in total on smart pass and offers plus $10 voucher because of the disastrous spillage last week.

Meant to say, the Ocado organic rocket was much better than the Waitrose organic rocket. I'd seen the reviews were better but was still a bit sceptical but it was fresher and not as wet so it lasted a whole week. Cheaper too slightly I think.0
