Ocado turned up ok - not a lot in the order but I did sneak in some banned chocolate as I was having withdrawl symptoms! I got 2 packs of the nut cutlets as although maybe abrasive they are hopefully fairly plain to have with steamed veg.

I had the basil tofu today - ordered it especially for the flavour but not sure if it's ok. I had it with steamed salad potatoes/sprouts, watercress, quinoa/giant couscous/pearl barley and garlic/olive oil - and it still made me feel ill - it appears to be an acid aggravated problem hence trying the restricted foods temporarily in conjunction with meds. I should add that I wouldn't normally put that combo together :rotfl:

I might have to try those noodles though they didn't sound that appetising! Good idea re growing herbs - I used to get organic ones in Sainsbury's but that was a long time ago and I don't have one that close anymore. I did have a non org Asda one this summer which lasted surprisingly well but mostly get the odd bags of cut herbs from A&C to supplement anything growing but I will now need a larger supply.

Was going to put my xmas order in via A&C but will now split the order between A&C and Riverford as A&C prices are suddenly astronomical in comparison (they always seemed a bit cheaper before?). How do A&C justify 2.70 on 1 head of broccoli? It was way cheaper for organic in Wholefoods even. Mushrooms/red cabbage another huge price difference.

Kirri if I knew you in Real Life I'd buy you this book for Christmas..
Green & Black's Ultimate Chocolate Recipes by Micah Carr (Kyle Cathie) 9781856269407 normally £16.99 but only £3 from The Book People ;)

    http://www.thebookpeople.co.uk/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/qs_product_tbp?productId=253033&storeId=10001&catalogId=10051&langId=100&categoryId=123288&pageNumber=4

They've also got The River Cottage handbook collection ( RRP 110.00) that's ten paperbacks for £17, River Cottage Fruit Every Day reduced from £25 to 7.99 and A Soup for Every Day from New Covent Garden Soup Co reduced from £25 to 5.99

I tend to buy more from A&C than Riverford as I think the quality is often better although Riverford can be cheaper. I still do buy organic veg from Lidl and ASDA as well as Sainsbury's. I got a head of organic broccoli for £1 at ASDA.

Yeah that does sound a bit weird :D

Thanks Edwardia, just ordered the RC Fruit book for £7.99 :T I had that in mind for a present and that's a great price - just managed to find a free delivery code on the board too that was working - have just missed cut off for standard delivery by a few hours but I'll risk that for that price :D

I had the G&B book bought for me one Christmas :D though it was an older version than that, not sure if older or different? That is a good price too!

I've bought the River Cottage handbook collection for my mum, for Christmas. We went on a foraging course together and they're some of the books the course leader recommended. It's a lovely looking set and an absolute bargain when you look at the prices of the individual books.

^ That was the first post on the thread IIRC !

Over time we decided that we prefer the Sainsbury's SO organic teabags and my mother has also switched to these too. This year, the sliced runner beans were good most of the time.

Kirri and Callie22 soo glad the info was useful ! :)

I picked up 'Organic' by Sophie Grigson & William Black (I think they were married) a hardback at Oxfam for 3.99 today. My mother told me yesterday not to buy new books though so I'm guessing she bought me some ? One year we discovered we'd gotten each other the same cook book LOL.

Cocoa lomo champagne truffles 115g 5.99, Riverford. Hard as bullets exterior, softer exterior, has a slightly sour wine flavour.. 0/10 :(

Sometimes it is difficult to see what is really organic and what is not. Many products and restaurants pretend to be organic but they are not. We should be very accurate about it.

Seems a lot of it about.... (also reported ^)

Finally posted the cards, tortured in the shops this morning trying to find some last minute bits. A&C lovely order of veg turned up though, SO love online orders, may do ALL of it online next year, I really don't get why people love going shopping, I massively hate it.

Shame I couldn't get any organic broccoli though from A&C or Riverford. Tried Asda but they seem to have no organic stuff. Didn't order any more sprouts, pigs didn't like the ones from A&C, one point blank refused to eat one - they preferred Waitrose ones!
