I've never looked to see what is in conventional baby shampoo, I presume it's just a marketing angle although didn't the slogan say it didn't sting your eyes? so maybe 1 less chemical..? a bit like 'men's' products or 'matey' bubble bath that I used to get dunked in, it's probably all much the same in conventional standards.

I've been using Jason Natural shampoo and conditioner for years, (aloe or sea kelp varieties mostly) it suits my hair which is fine and waist length and coloured. Have also used Green People and Avalon.

DGJ organics do a baby one I think it is in Savers for £1 ish.

Big Green Smile have free shipping on orders over £5 for I think the next two weeks, plus a few other offers on (I've not ordered from them, I just get the emails).

    http://www.biggreensmile.com/departments/special-offers.aspx?deptid=SPECIALOFFERS

Waitrose - now got G&B on offer, cheapest I've seen these items, £2.99 for the mini bars (12 pack) and £8.25 for the tasting collection (24 pack + 1)

Ocado new offers this week - not much changed but they have added quite a few org Bart spices.

Thanks. I do buy from Organic Surge from time to time, but was looking for a cheaper alternative. It would seem that we have to work REALLY hard to avoid SLS's as they are everywhere.

Will look in Savers myself Kirri and try that DGJ one as long as it's not watermelon.

Just had email from Ocado and Waitrose organic raw peeled Ecuadorian King Prawns are 2 for £6 - I'm hoping that's two bags/packs not two prawns as no weight given.

I don't know how much OS costs, I've not bought it myself (seem to think it wasn't that organic from past comments on here?? Edwardia??).

Avalon is a fairly affordable range though the Jason Natural is semi reasonable - I get it in bulk from Essentials London as they always have the best prices.

I need to go in Savers to get wax strips so will check which one it was, think they had two though maybe was 1 shampoo 1 shower gel, only smallish bottles but good for holidays/sampling it, poss 150ml.

Talking of prawns, I just re-read the ethical prawns thread as it got bumped :rotfl:

Anyone seen any organic sprout sticks yet?

Brussels sprouts ? Ewww cooked but I like nice firm ones with the grotty leaves removed, quartered in a nutty salad with mayo mmm.

Organic Surge was on offer at Ocado last December so I got lots for Christmas from OH, well remembered Kirri. No SLS or parabens but organic is the brand name, I couldn't find any certification on my stuff. Also the moisturiser made my skin feel sore - possibly because everything seems quite perfumed. OH loves the eye gel tho, vandanfc

Um yeah on the ethical prawns :o and I confess to buying wild N Atlantic from a wholesaler occasionally in a 1kg tub. :o Guess that makes me a prawn ravisher....

Small plea.. anyone know of any gluten free organic brown sauce please ? I ordered the GranoVita GF one from H&B but I've had two out of stock emails now. :(

Checked GranoVita website OOS there too :( Did discover that they sell short dated stuff direct http://shop.granovita.co.uk/shop/

Current organic stuff from Approved Foods while I think of it. Kirri there's out of date G&B crispy milk 2 for 1.50

    Amazon has it

    £10.26 for 6 bottles doesn't sound bad and it's free delivery. :)

The standards for organic certification aren't as strict on non food and Boots got caught out labelling things which weren't 100% organic as organic.

Saying that a product is made with certified organic oils doesn't mean the products are organic if they contain other ingredients or haven't been certified as a final product.

Ocado sells The Garden of Eatin' (yep really) blue corn chips made with organic corn but the chips themselves aren't USDA certified. If the corn is really organic, why not get the chips certified ?? Yeo Valley is family-owned but still properly certified so a company that big (part of The Hain Celestial Group) could afford to certify but doesn't. http://www.gardenofeatin.com/ingredients The question is why not ? Just because a big American food manufacturer says it's made with organic corn doesn't mean it is..

Orgran makes gluten free food but you could assume Orgran means they make organic food and if you did you'd be wrong. Did that myself :o ahem

Going back to cosmetics to get Ecocert certification the product should be 95% plant based but only a minimum of 10% by weight must come from organic farming
