Organic food in supermarkets

bornintoit if you're low carbing weight will fall off til you get to your natural weight but if you feel it's happening too fast add some slow release grains or veg back in which would also help with digestive issues.
When I started I did 100g carbs a day for months then 50g carbs because of my diabetes then as few as poss so mine are mostly from fruit.
If you're just wanting to lose weight I'd work out how much carbohydrate you've been eating and cut 50% which averagely would mean eating max 150g carbs per day to start. The important thing is to keep the fruit and veg IN and exclude the processed carbs.
Some people get what is called carb flu for a week or so, others get carb cravings for same time, others nothing at all. I think it's reasonable to expect body to go through some adjustment though.
Hope that helps ! Ultimately we would all be more healthy shopping the edges of the supermarket and cutting out as much processed food as poss.
It's 3lbs so far which isn't too much for me it feels just right losing that much in nearly a week. I am eating big-ish portions at meals I admit because my biggest problem before was getting really hungry inbetween meals and snacking on BAD foods so I'm trying to avoid getting hungry between meals incase I end up eating something bad. This also means that I am still eating fruit and things like sweet potatoes, I know they can be high in carbs and contain sugar but acceptable while I adjust maybe later on I will limit these foods.
I could probably do with losing some weight but right now I'm focusing more on getting used to this way of eating - any weight loss at present is a bonus.
I am thinking my gut is also having to adjust to this new way of eating so I hope the current digestive issues will go away after 30 days.'Look after the pennies and the pounds will look after themselves'0 -
That's the one! I can't go tomorrow night anyway.
I forgot, there is also As Nature Intended just next to Ealing Broadway Centre. They do good things too and I always make sure to pop in when I'm in the area. That's where I used to buy kefir before I managed to secure some grains to make my own.
I love Olivers, always has anything I want especially the less common items (unlike the supermarkets).
Plus jump on the 391 bus (or tube) and there's As Nature Intended in Chiswick or the new Wholefoods in Richmond. I hope Olivers doesn't suffer with that opening though..0 -
I think sometimes products do go out of stock and there's a supply prob - for several weeks I could only get organic cherry tomatoes from Riverford or A&C, Sainsbos didn't even have them on shelf label. Then another time I couldn't find Waitrose organic oven chips for OH and that went on for a while - at the moment Ocado has them but Waitrose doesn't..

bornintoit suggest some organic natural yogurt. Sweet potatoes are roughly 50% less carby than spuds as they have more fibre.0 -

LOL Edwardia, what you typed means black horse.
Cavolo nero means black cabbage and that's the term you want.
I could live on any kind of kale (of which cavolo nero is one). :drool:Be careful who you open up to. Today it's ears, tomorrow it's mouth.0 -

Walk up from the station to the Quadrant, cross over where the road splits on the one way system, go a bit round to the left following where the buses go round to the bus station (ie not full left to Waitrose) and it's on the corner of the road that goes up to Argos.0 -

Is it where Uniqlo used to be? I did see building work in progress a while back. I was in Richmond yesterday but didn't look that way.Be careful who you open up to. Today it's ears, tomorrow it's mouth.0 -

ahem
I was in Waitrose Tuesday looking at olive oil with my mother (there are three long shelves of it in this store). My mother is muttering, telling me that according to some cooking show she watched - hopefully not Come Dine With Me  - the best stuff comes from Puglia and she thrusts a bottle into my mitts which is mostly written in Italian.
So I'm womanfully trying to translate out of Italian into English and she's moaning at my slowness.. so I'll repeat now what I said then: " Italian is my fourth language".
It could have been worse, at least I wasn't telling a handsome Italian guy that I liked his beautiful black cabbage0
