I have been putting Heinz products on the thread because although there are organic versions of the Cream of tomato soup and tomato ketchup, Heinz has always been saying no additives, no artificial flavourings, colourings or preservatives in any of their products.

I went online to check a product today and imagine my horror when I found that Heinz spaghetti contains glucose-fructose syrup, especially because this is a product aimed primarily at kids.

So as of today I won't be including Heinz products on this thread unless specifically organic.
  • I emailed Waitrose about delivery to my area and this was the response.

"The catchment area for delivery with the Waitrose.com grocery service is defined by postcode zone and/or the drivetime distance from the branch.

As the service grows and we are able to introduce more resources to the service then we may review the size of the catchments and open new postcode sectors accordingly.

You are welcome to register your details on our Waitrose.com site, so that we may notify you if a branch near you does become available for this service.

We apologise we are currently not able to offer this service to you at this time."

Oh well. At least I have shown that there is some interest for Waitrose in my area.

socalsteam welcome to the thread, hope you find it useful and do feel free to just pitch in there.

bornintoit - Kallo https://www.saykallo.com launched organic gravy granules and organic stock pots in October. The stock pots are available in Tesco and Co-op but I haven't seen them yet. However I have seen the chicken gravy granules in Waitrose and tried them - very good, not salty. The other variety is beef. Both are gluten free so no wheat flour.

I wonder if this is similar to the gravy they discontinued a year or so ago, it was my favourite (gluten free too but not why I purchased it). I'll have a look in Waitrose tomorrow when I drop DS2 to work (he'll know where it is - aisle 1, he hates aisle 1)

Yes that's the one, they do lots of talks etc there - I've been using it for years, since it was about 1/3 of the size it is today! Great selection of reasonably priced dried goods, great for organic toiletries, dairy etc and vegan stuff, though veg is very expensive there! Useful place for hard to get items.

  • I am tempted by an offer on Donald Russell, I thought this was a good offer especially as the beef is grass fed which I have read to be the best type of meat you can buy. As I'm new to organic I am keen to have other peoples opinions on this, can this be considered to be organic or not?
