alfsmum - I just noticed the chocolate sauce you decadent person you ;) I must I really must got to Whole Foods as well, going green here...

rufydoofyM - that did help me actually thank you, as I wanted to know what was in the small Riverford fruit bag. OH likes them for work but he doesn't like kiwi fruit.

kirri- not sure how to explain, some cucumbers taste strong but good and others taste strong and kind of like earth :( or raw coriander :(

But when you need things right then it's a PITA. I do try and stockpile but OH is a great one for saying we/I don't need when it's on offer and then whinging that he hasn't got any 2 weeks later grr. Must admit I get OH to go buy cheapo foil and kitchen roll in discount stores usually. Rarely use clingfilm as I don't use a microwave.

Just done an order for Riverford Friday, getting wild garlic again plus watercress and creme fraiche and thinking of making a soup. It's supposed to be frosty here over weekend :(

Got some Waitrose organic Spanish strawberries in my Ocado order today, to have tonight, the variety is Sabrine and they smell fantastic.

Was really impressed with the small Ocado organic veg box today - one whole celeriac, three whole small heads calabrese broccoli, several big carrots, quite a good sized amount of shallots, two fennel bulbs and some sweet potatoes. £9

^ Says apples, pears and bananas in the SFB on my Riverford, you might want to check, think mine is from the Hampshire farm? Were quite a few differences overall.

Can't say I've had a cucumber to match that description!

Kirri - I asked His Nibs if he wanted to risk it and he said no so he's going to go to Lidl on Saturday and pick up some organic Fairtrade bananas. He's got Duchy Originals organic fruit flavoured yogurts to try for tomorrow/Friday ( they are on offer but I didn't get five) and his Graze box.

Yup it tasted strange to me, was a Waitrose organic ridge cucumber from UK bought in Waitrose.

Ah ok, the ridge cucumbers have a thicker skin and can, if growing yourself, get a bit bitter, one of the gpigs isn't that keen on ridge cucumbers! I had to change the variety I grew for that reason.. (went onto thin skinned Duchy organic cucumbers from seed and she loved them).

I find with some of the things I was looking at that A&C were cheaper, tofu was one thing I checked yesterday. Other things seem 10p ish difference, think I was looking at cheeses.

I ordered President butter and it is lovely, I didn't know what I was missing.

I got my first ever veg box and I am feeling daunted about what to do with the stuff!

Wow the broccoli is tasty, i've chopped up one of the 3 pieces of the broccoli and microwaved, added 3 raw shallots and one courgette microwaved with oil and black pepper.

I am eating the stalk of the broccoli which i think is ok, but there were also leaves which I removed, can I eat those too? I've never seen that on supermarket broccoli.

See, it's a funny ol' world...I prefer the ridge cucumbers from Waitrose/Ocado, more flavour & crunch (edit - just realised I'm comparing myself to one of your gpigs! Lol!). I think that ridge cucumbers can be grown outdoors as opposed to the 'normal' smooth skinned cukes you see? We grow our own in an unheated greenhouse and prefer the 'half-size' Mediterranean type. They used to be grown from a pkt of seeds bought back from a holiday in Cyprus! :)

I make a rough list of meals before the box turns up otherwise it can get out of hand eating it all :D

I saw something the other day about cutting the stalk into 50p sized slices and eating. The gpigs prefer the stalk and LOVE the leaves, that's what annoys me about supermarket broccoli as they are often both missing! (same with caulis and their missing leaves..).

Lol! She's a very fussy food tester, mostly with tomatoes, if she eats things I know they are very good.. It is possible to grow the smooth skin ones outside, some types anyway are for outdoors, the Duchy organic ones were outside ones, can't remember the seed name, but they are incredibly expensive seeds and you only got 4 I think it was! They produce mini smooth cucumbers, really good but weren't overly prolific either. Before that I was growing marketmore which gpig decided weren't good enough.. (plus it was irritating my hands washing the prickles off).

My problem is I hate cooking and the mess it creates. Hence, the microwave veg and fish method I learnt from a friend.

After the vegetables yesterday, I cut a little bit of cheese and had a few spoonfuls of yoghurt to contribute towards 3 dairy portions a day.

If I could eat everything raw or just take a pill instead of eating, it would make my life so much easier.

Non-dairy milk, the cheapest method is to make your own? I've met people who say they make their own, but would it be too much of a hassle? Although googling this has reminded me I would like to get some kefir.

Do Ocado offer anything for really late deliveries? Free delivery on your next order? 5?% off your order etc.?

The Calon Wen milk is not tasting great to me, its ok but that about it, in Europe the fresh milk tastes amazing, I wonder if it was raw milk, on first inspection it smelt like it had gone bad, but once I got used to it, it was really tasty.

Just noticed Ocado now do Biona Coconut oil - Raw as well as the regular one.
