Thanks for the garlic/fleece tip, Edwardia - I am desperate to put in a Riverford order but unfortunately due to an appt I won't be in for delivery again this week  really should sort them out with a key. So only able to have A&C - need to put my order in.

Shame you didn't get the olive oil, that's my 3rd freebie but seems like they are very random who gets them when from what I've read - I've had OJ, milk and olive oil now. I'm nowhere near getting 10 orders from Riverford :(

    You're more than welcome.. :)

My A&C freebies.. I have had a mini organic star mince pie, 4 organic free range eggs and a litre of semi-skimmed organic milk.

Riverford freebies.. ring binder and index file for recipes and the cool bag arriving this week.

Bagged a good reduced price bargain in Waitrose today.. a half leg of organic NZ lamb for 9.67 reduced by over £3. Also picked up reduced price mushrooms and some reduced price organic baby new potatoes for OH.

Waitrose was doing 10% off all frozen food for holders of myWaitrose cards but they had run out of Waitrose organic Margharita pizzas for OH. :(

Did pick up some kallo organic gravy granules sachets (chicken and beef) for OH which he likes but I don't, 2 for £1.

Indulged myself by buying some new season Italian organic asparagus for 2.75 a bunch.

Green groups and industry duel over Waitrose ban on neonicotinoids (pesticides which harm bees)

***Sainsbury's, Marks & Spencer and The Co-operative follow Tesco, ASDA and Morrisons in allowing poultry farmers to feed GM feed to non organic poultry***

In fact M&S for all it's lyrical wording about the LochmuirTM salmon, Oakham chickens etc, it is now allowing GM feed across its' fresh meat ranges.

This why I end up feeling guilty ordering from Ocado, I feel I should support Waitrose.

I guess we need to find out what Ocado's stance is. I buy Ocado and Waitrose organic products from Ocado and I buy Daylesford chicken from them also and my eggs come from Abel & Cole.

I feel that it's the refusal by the USA to separate GM and non GM and to keep pushing GM that is threatening organic food as well as the health of the world.

Have a Google on CRIIGEN and you'll find stuff on the 2 yrs study which shows GM stuff causes cancer in mice - huge tumors.

I guess if we email if we're anti GM we let supermarkets know how we feel. I'm just not going to buy GM while I have a choice and if that means going veggie because there's non non GM organic meat and poultry then that's what I'll do tho as a low carber it would be hellishly difficult.

    Have emailed Ocado ;)

IIRC, I have had yoghourt, orange juice and olive oil as A&C freebies.

Edwardia , I'll be interested to hear what Ocado have to say on the GM front. Seems it's getting harder and harder to find unadulterated food to eat and I don't want to be feeding potentially nasty stuff to the meat-eating part of the family. Must get my A&C order in for Friday!

I'll be continuing to use Ocado for the foreseeable future as I have almost a year to go on my Smart Pass and I find their website and delivery slots more convenient than Waitrose.

sit rep - email last night said Ocado will be getting back to me within 48 hrs

Waitrose is only supermarket that has said it is NOT allowing farmers to feed GM feed across all own brand ranges.

To avoid GM fed animals and poultry, your choices currently are:

    • organic food which is certified
    • non-organic food from farms/suppliers you trust not to feed GM (non-certified)
    • Waitrose non-organic own brand food across all ranges (non-certified)
    • specific products from supermarkets eg Taste The Difference eggs, Sainsbury's (non-certified)

  • If anyone is interested in trying Riverford farm veg boxes I got a leaflet in a mailing from the book people today with an offer of a small veg box for £5.99
