Well after following this thread i ordered our first box of organic veg last night-should be here tomorrow unless i didn't order in time (haven't checked the deadline) it's a localish farm http://www.marketsideorganics.co.uk/MarketsideOLD.htm
although the website was difficult to figure out i thought i'd try them. Will update when the box arrives.

Does anyone know anything about organic honey? I am trying to figure out if it's worth opting for the organic, whats the difference?

Well I would assume that the beehives would be situated within organic crops but since bees can fly I don't know how the producer guarantees that.. good question

the link to the organic honey offer thread

Ocado are doing buy 3 get cheapest free on various honeys, jams, peanut butter etc . Might be a good chance to stock up?

Edwardia , what awful service from Farmaround. They don't deliver out in the sticks here but I'd certainly avoid them if they ever expand our way.

No Riverford order this week as we still had loads of stuff to use, and just a small A&C order for eggs and dairy.

I've received a couple of items in the post from MyWaitrose; a £5 voucher to spend on anything plus a 10 per cent of your basket total valid until 21 April. Also have £5 off a £40 shop from Tesco so will have to work out how to make the most of these offers.

Wholefoods are holding a Chocolate Day on Sunday so guess where we'll be heading? Hope there are lots of free samples :rotfl:

Need to get some more shampoo /conditioner this week. Have been trying a Daniel Galvin Junior one which DDs also like and an Avalon tea tree conditioner. Still have a Bentleys shampoo to use up but DS seem to wash their hair every 5 minutes.....

Does anyone use Homebargains and do they stock organic stuff? There's one opening near us soon so wondered if its worth a look.

Went to M&S earlier in the week. Very hard to spot odds and ends of organic produce.

^ Have a look at Essentials London website, mainly organic pharmacy in London, I used to use the shop when I worked nearby and now order online, cheapest around for a lot of things I use. I like the Jason Natural shampoo and conditioner sets (were BOGOF last time I ordered too). I like the green bottles, can't remember what they are, kelp or aloe maybe. Got the pink at the mo.

Edwardia - have you seen this delivery area map Farmaround have on fb? I'd put a comment on the wall too about the atrocious service, they are collating info on there re delivery areas etc.

I was tempted to try them but not sure now! Maybe I should give it a go as a one off and see what happens though as I'm in London it should be ok.. but I can't stand bad customer service.

I've had to deal with refunded items with both Riverford and A&C now. Riverford offered me a free item (not sure what!) on my next order. A&C refunded me immediately which is better.

Has anyone had any issues with the BC yoghurts from A&C? Mine keep going all 'blown', the pots that is, like bagged cheese does when it starts to go off.. I threw one away last time but 5 of the 6 pots have gone like it this time so have put in another complaint.

Kirri - the Farmaround Facebook page map doesn't clearly show whether my area is included or not but my postcode in the box on the website did include me. At no point did anyone say they couldn't deliver to me until after the delivery date.

I've had quite a few Brown Cow yogurts from A&C for OH and not had a prob with any of them. Could there have been a batch where they were potted too soon do you think ? They do the filling by hand with jugs, I've seen the video.

Thinking of probs.. Ocado delivery turned up with Cadbury's Creme Eggs I hadn't ordered one time and was refunded.. another time the Planet Clean multisurface cleaner top came undone all over stuff but got refunded for everything spoiled..another time a warehouse glitch meant anyone who ordered chicken wings got chicken breast fillets and charged and was refunded for that.

Abel & Cole.. defrosting a chicken which was just in a plastic bag with tie not on tray and not shrinkwrapped got blood over stuff and they sent me a bottle of wine with next order.

Riverford.. can't think of any probs so far..

Been using Ocado since August, A&C ditto, Riverford since February.

alfsmum - I had MyWaitrose vouchers £10 off £100 but I don't spend that much instore now because I get stuff delivered from Ocado, A&C and Riverford.

I've used the Daniel Galvin Junior one watermelon and it's OK. Doesn't make my scalp itch like Johnson's baby shampoo did over time.

No Home Bargains near me but ppl are sweet and pop in to post when they see organic food there so if you were to have a look you might find stuff like Crazy Jack's for example.

OH tried the House of Westphalia pumpernickel bread toasted this morning with and without butter and said it was like eating birdseed :rotfl:I'm forbidden to buy it ever again.

Riverford clotted cream.. tried it on top of ice cream last night while watching Ice Man movies and it doesn't have the crust and it only vaguely tastes like the Rodda stuff I lurve so won't be buying it again. As firm double cream I'd say fine but as clotted cream, nope.

alfsmum - agree totally with you about spotting organic in M&S - I called and whinged :D

Little Me Organics Sensitive Pear, Mallow and Organic Aloe Vera Body Cream 150ml tube

Pretty sure I got this in either ASDA or Sainsbury's. Handy for shoving in my bag to use on hands, even face. Really leaves my skin soft, no fancy smell, tightness, irritation or greasiness. Designed for kids. Recommend.

Organic Surge Blissful Daily Moisturiser Normal/Combination. 50ml glass pot. Ocado.

Methinks they must have done the sensitive skin testing on a rhinoceros. Strong rosemary scent, does leave skin soft but stings. Don't like at all, wouldn't buy again.

I'm not sure with the yoghurts, I do really like them bar this issue. They are looking into it though. Not had any issues with Riverford apart from a seeping tomato, started to fur up around the stem a couple of days after delivery. I had one item with a broken pot that was refunded no problem. I still prefer the deliveries bar these odd issues.

I've got no yoghurt now though, too late for my order tomorrow so may have to venture into a supermarket  Will see if Asda have any on offer as passing there tomorrow or if not will wait and go in Waitrose on Monday as will be passing there (and prefer it).

Re moisturiser, anyone who wants a fairly non shiny finish, I had a sample of Aubrey Organics blue green algae mosturiser and although it's for oily skin I love the fact it's non shiny, strange smell mind you.

I ordered a sneaky non org vegan choc cinder toffee that arrived this morning, it's so good!! :o

I've been using Ocado for over 3 years and have always had refunds without question. Usually for substandard fruit or veg or occasionally when something has leaked.

Contacted Riverford a couple of weeks ago about a loaf of bread that was very unpleasant, took them two or three days to reply but they had been contacting the producer to see if there was a problem. Producer thought it might have been under baked, price refunded and also same price offered off a future delivery so I could try the loaf again.

Had to email A&C last week about rotten tomatoes in veg box, immediate refund, very impressed.

So, so far so good with customer service on all of these.
