I bought OH some Pimhill muesli which he likes.
Called Farmaround and Diane was going to call the driver Oliver to find out where he was and get back to me. I've had no messages and the Farmaround office closed early without Diane getting back to me.
So the likelihood of me ever ordering from them again seems somewhat low at the moment..
I don't like the Pimhill muesliIt looks good, but has severe lack of nuts given there are supposed to be 3 types. There are huge amounts of raisins (which I like but not in that quantity) which are a bit crunchy inside as though you are eating an insect.. It might just not be to my personal taste... I may use it in flapjacks instead but will give it another go first. May try adding more oats and nuts to it.
Went to Olivers and bought a different type to try, from the Essential Trading Co-operative, with lots of nuts in and not so many raisins.
Disappointing ^^ from Farmaround, delays could maybe be excused a little if they kept you up to date and at least turned up!!
Riverford put in an extra round before mine the other week so turned up late afternoon - but why they can't just send out a group email in circumstances like that I don't know, it should be simple.but what to do with fennel???!
I don't get to eat a lot of it as the gpigs love it so they tend to eat most of it... but it's good in stir fries and also in a haloumi/couscous/onion/pepper type meal.
Good for digestion too, I give more to the gpigs if they get wind0 -

Ocado's apple and celeriac soup for you ***cupcake***
Thanks so much for this Edwardia.
I modified it with a little butternut squash and a few other leftover veggies and its absolutely delicious!
DD (who studiously avoids all things vegetable) actually helped herself and declared 'I don't know what's wrong with me but this soup is lovely' :rotfl:
I've just invested in some Organic Coconut Oil http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B006H9QX6S/ref=oh_details_o03_s00_i00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 to cook with. Has anyone any experience of using it in any way?
I'm also keen to try to make my own toothpaste http://homesteadwannabes.blogspot.co.uk/2010/11/homemade-tooth-soap-recipe-healthy.html0 -

Thanks you! Will try to make something tasty for myself as my hubby and son are fussy eaters as it is not money saving to waste fennel:j
Unfortunately we don't have pigs and no chances to get ones as we live in flat:D“The simple things are also the most extraordinary things, and only the wise can see them.”

:T vincenta !
fennel.. we love it.. we slice and mix with sliced onion then put in an ovenproof dish, chuck in a bay leaf and a grind of black pepper and then put grated cheese on top and pour a teeny bit of milk down the sides so the fennel has a little bit of moisture to cook in.. Bake in the oven til you can smell it with foil on top then whisk the foil off to get the cheese all golden. You can mix breadcrumbs in with the cheese to stretch it - fresh or dried (will be crunchier).
Fennel and celeriac mash.. it's more mush than mash but tastes great.
Sliced fennel in salad or in strips in HM coleslaw.
Just a few ideas..
Still no Farmaround..
Thank you Edwardia!
Will try to cook and then will see if fennel is my cup of tea or not:rotfl:“The simple things are also the most extraordinary things, and only the wise can see them.”

Thank you, that is the oneI use it when making fruit bread - I really only wanted one pot at a time but that is quite a good price, not sure how quick I'd use 6 pots but may have to give it a go!

Ocado has Green & Black's ice cream on offer ATM 500ml either £3, 2.85 or 2.79 depending on flavour (chocolate is 2.79)
Got hold of Farmaround and supposely I was sent an email this morning. As I was a bit miffed I made her check her emails because I was looking at mine and there was nothing in my folders, spam included - she couldn't find the email
The excuse was that the driver refused to deliver the order saying I was too far out from London :rotfl:He claimed I lived three hours away :rotfl: (Try less than half that)
I think they shouldn't say they deliver to you and allow you to order - then allow the driver to say no after it's been invoiced. I told her I stayed in all day until 6pm. They could have phoned, texted or emailed and they didn't
I wouldn't ever use them again, myself. That's just shambolic customer service. I don't buy the we sent you an email this morning thing.0 -
Is anyone here not convinced that Organic is better?
Organic produce still uses pesticides on it, which does not mean organically grown by my understanding. All the 'organic' label actually means is slightly fewer pesticides are used on the produce.
I also have not experienced the improved flavour/texture that you all are raving about.0
