What's your pet hate about comping?

Captchas ~ especially when you go through the whole page and then it won't accept your captcha, regardless as to whether you are correct!:mad::mad:
Mulitple entries ~ surely once is more than enough!
Sharing (FB) and liking their mulitple social media pages...
*** probably a few more but that's good for now
:A:j Thanx to all who post the comps!!! :j0 -
· Captchas
· Facebook L & S comps - why do they still do these?
· Hitting 'submit' just as you realise there's a dozen tick boxes you missed, meaning you will be spammed for life
· Emails entitled 'Congratulations WINNER' and when you open it it's Mavis from Dorset who has won
· Not winning that one I REALLY want to win but winning that 'Oh, I may as well enter this one' comp
· MSE going off line for maintenance at 1am (I'm often a night owl)
· UK competitions that ask for ‘State’ and ‘Zip Code’
Just had to quote these as I wouldn't have thought to put them otherwise!
But yeah, I have a few to add:
- Indecipherable Captchas (especially ReCaptcha in full on "help I'm being attacked" mode where it more resembles a Rorschach test than words).
- ITV's faffing around with PlayCaptcha, that never ever seems to work, and it's more of a surprise when you don't have to fill in a ReCaptcha afterwards.
- A "Country" dropdown box that doesn't let you specify "United Kingdom", as that IS my country, not blooming England. If I was in the US, I'd choose the USA as my country, not (for example) Arizona.
- Mag dailies where the "not interested" box is becoming harder and harder to find and add to the "No thanks" Roboform preset. Also, when they instantly react when you accidentally select the wrong box (usually by trying to move down the page with the arrow keys while a box is still highlighted). O2 have been bombarding me with SIM cards ever since.
- My address is quite short, so when the third address is REQUIRED, I'm usually forced to make up something. I've been writing random Pokemon character's names in there.Wins of 2014: *zip*

Oh yes! Definitely!
Also, one that makes me laugh more than annoys me:
"I had a card saying I had a missed delivery. Anyone know what it is?"
Yeah, because we know exactly what is in there!0 -
Effort comps to win video cameras that require you to take some kind of James Cameron worthy video.
Which, when you don't own something awesome like a video camera to make one on, is a bloody pain.Best 2016 Wins - Nails Inc Bundle, Sebo Vacuum, Walking Dead Figure Subscription0 -
Oh, and another one......
It goes a little like this......From time to time we like to send out loads of emails via third parties. If you do want to not receive these emails please tick the box confirming that you do so. We promise to never not send you emails that you have not requested to not receive. Do you not want to receive these emails? Only tick this box if you do not agree to not receiving these emails. Yes, I don't agree to not receiving these emails
And after I've read it 100 times I still don't know if I should be ticking the box or notUEFA: Corrupting Football Since 1954 #CTID0 -

Oh tell me about it! There was one I entered a few years ago, where I used a mobile phone (but it was really good quality, 1080p video) as I had nothing else. The terms specifically said the quality of the video doesn't matter, it's the message.
The winner of the competition? Shot their video on a RED One camera (if you watched John Simm's Prey the last couple of weeks on ITV, the same cameras that were used to shoot that). They didn't need to enter the thing, but they shot the rest of us out the water :mad:Wins of 2014: *zip*
