People who just add links to newbie comp posts without checking if they are a dupe, self promotion or titled correctly

Newbies cannot post links for a reason.

Totally agree with you mjm, if the poster watches the thread, they see the link and think that's it. The help to title and date it correctly or point out a dupe needs to be in the 2nd post or it's a waste of time.

I think this is another one with a slightly different approach, certainly has faith in the site they keep try to push.

as it's just been brought up and jogged my memory (yes, sorry I just bumped a post, but was answering a question) I thought I'd ask, why do people subscribe to threads?
I find it a convoluted way of working. Isn't it easier to just bookmark threads?

Easiest way to find out if somebody has posted an answer you are waiting for. Like the Woodhouse find the bunnies competition. Otherwise you have to keep checking to see if the thread has been updated.

Totally annoying if the thread then gets turned into a chat thread ie the win the house one. The book marking to look each day is easier or you get an email every time somebody decides to say how much they want to win (really? you want to win a house?).

The comps that are annoying me now are the Easter chocolate ones. Don't get me wrong I like chocolate, I just don't like it THAT much.

I'd hate it if it had Bill Oddie in it.
