Where in France for a family holiday?

Hi
We stayed in a mobile home at a site called La Yole last year which is just outside St Jean du Mont on the Vendee Coast and it was very good. There were lots of other campsite / caravan sites in the area.
The other thing to check though is ferry crossings, they are not cheap ! The Dover Calais crossing is roughly £100 but if you cross to St Malo, Cherbourg etc its a lot more expensive although it does get you a little closer.
We're using the Dover Calais crossing this year but staying in a B&B on the other side to shorten the drive times.
I've used Chez Nous a number of times and always found them very good. I've got two small children and being able to contact the owner direct mean't I could check on safety aspects etc.
Enjoy your holiday !0 -
We've stayed at Audierne a few times. It's the most westerly point on Brittany.
Pretty little marina town and some fantastic beaches in all directions. I would recommend it.de do-do-do, de dar-dar-dar

Another vote for the Vendee. It's only a little further south than Brittany but the weather is much more reliable.0

Yes I've been pricing up ferries (about £90 dover-Calais return) that's the slow one though (2 hours).. we're used to travel and not afraid to put the kids through hell so we'll probably just go for it in one day (serve em right

I found the house on https://www.cheznous.co.uk - but I have also used https://www.holiday-rentals.co.uk many times.
One thing about chez nous is that once you've booked your holiday, you can book your ferry with them at a discounted rate.0 -
