Did you format?
Did you run WinCris twice as in the instructions?
Did you try the different versions of Phlash that I uploaded?
The usb was a 512mb advent stick, formatted with FAT prior to running wincris.
I ran wincris twice as told, the 2nd time pressed yes and the the window flashed to show the stick contents as they were prior to the 2nd "yes". Haven't tried the other phlashes yet, but still unsure that the created usb drive should have ALL files created written over by files copies from the package OR just the bios.wph file written over?main stream media is a propaganda machine for the establishment.0 -

You would only need to do that if the drive appeared empty, but yes you can overwrite all if you wish.Press and hold the Fn + Esc keys, then press the Power button.
Then keep holding Fn + Esc for about 10-15 seconds.0 -

If you can replace all the files created why do you need to create these files from wincris in the first place. Could I just format the stick and copy the wph, minidos and phlash file on to the stick?main stream media is a propaganda machine for the establishment.0 -

No, because it would not be Bootable. There are hidden files there too. Of course you can try it.

None of them seem to work. There are lots of supposed fixes on the internet that mention an .fd file. Do you know anything of such an .fd file?main stream media is a propaganda machine for the establishment.0 -

.fd extension for a Phoenix BIOS? I don't think so. Forget about that option.
It's just a BIOS with a different extension. So you could just as easily rename your BIOS as we have here. It was CP2A_104.rom before, remember? I just renamed it to a form that your system will recognise.
Try another USB drive. Some people report have to try a few differing brands before success.0 -

Hi, the bios download from acer is a CP2A_104.EXE. So is the bios.wph the same file renamed and extension changed?
Have looked at the acer download bios and it is 2.9KB where as the bios. wph is 2KB.main stream media is a propaganda machine for the establishment.0 -

Forget about the .exe file, you already have the ROM. Forget about the fd extension. It is not for a Phoenix BIOS.0 -

Ok, all the phlashes do not invoke any response in the acer. It seems its toast. Don't have any write rewrite CD to try the DVD rom drive to try reading bios from there.main stream media is a propaganda machine for the establishment.0 -
You just need to work with the tools that you already have and try to work out why Fn + Esc is not working for you. Forget about .fd extensions, DVD ROM etc. You might consider a new BIOS chip or Motherboard if you lose hope.0
