I mentioned them earlier, and they do. They design and manufacture bespoke hand made kitchens, albeit using chipboard and/or MDF as per most other companies. They did a design for me, and it was impressive, with colour prints showing the kitchen from various angles.

    Whoops, sorry.

Howdens looked quite good, until I got to the worktops they offer. Disappointing choice according to their website, but I'll give them a call tomorrow to see whether they might have more than their website suggests.

You can always go to a 3rd party to install your worktops. Plenty of granite, quartz and transformation companies out there.

One tip I'd give you for your kitchen is to get someone round to do your design - anyone really, B&Q, Howdens, whoever. DON'T give them a deposit and see if they'll leave the plan. If they do, scan it to email and send it around the national and local kitchen companies for a comparison quotes. You'll find plenty of companies doing better quality products for much less cost.
  • like someone else said, look at howdens for the kitchen but i always go here for the worktops.

Tried these a few days ago for solid wood worktops as they're not too far from us - only 50 miles, LOL - but rather disappointed as despite assuring us they'd get it to us next day they didn't bother to come back with a quote :(

Am going to try worktop express instead ;)

As for sourcing from a non-local company, we recently had our (traditional, solid wood, bespoke handpainted) kitchen made by a company in Essex who we used previously when we lived there. Despite now living on the Wilts/Dorset border they were more than happy to design, build and deliver to us - apparently they have even supplied customers as far afield as Scotland :T

  • Chased Mitchells re: our worktop fabrication quote this morning and was informed the person dealing with it would call back asap - we had already stressed that we need to get them ordered post-haste - and........nothing, zilch, nada.......really surprised that they don't appear to want our business :( So much for supporting smaller, local companies..........
