Vp parking solutions

I have received letter through post telling me to pay the parking ticket fine (offence sometime in may 2012)or face the legal procedings. This offence never known to me earlier nor had any PCN attached on the car.I'am registered keeper of the vehicle but the car is driven by other family members as well.their signage still shows 'regd keeper liable for the offence'. Any help ?

It's not a fine, there was no offence, no-one is liable for anything, and despite their threats there will be no legal proceedings. Do not respond to them in any way, simply ignore everything they send you.

Did they actually use words such as "offence" and "fine" in their letter and signs?
What part of "A whop bop-a-lu a whop bam boo" don't you understand?
  • Many tnx Trisontana & Bazster.they've not used the words offence or fine anywhere in their letter nor on their signage. There letter is headed as 'notice before legal proceedings' reg PCN issued on 29/05/2012 which remains unpaid(obviously unknown to me)now to be paid by 12/10/2012.
Their signage states the car park cannot be used to go elsewhere other than going to the shops of the car park. Since we live in the vicinity, it's obvious we may have gone somewhere around but who remembers where u'd been 5 months ago ?
In the letter they also say thatmy info will be registered with uk credit reference services ! Can they do this .

No they can't. The only way your credit rating could be affected is if (i) they took you to court (ii) they won and (iii) you still refused to pay. None of this is going to happen.

What exactly does the letter say? If it really claims that VP can do this then a complaint to the DVLA will land them in very hot water indeed: they are already suspended from accessing registered keeper details from the DVLA for telling porkies, a whopper like this might see them booted off permanently.

Contact the British Parking Association and DVLA. VP Parking Solutions have been suspended from accessing DVLA data for gross misconduct in effect (not that that phrase means much in this context).

They may get some more 'sanction points', not that that means anything.

The BPA should tell them to get off your back though. Give them some work to do.

    No.

The "offence" was in May, they might have been sitting on it for a while. Although it's probably worth a complaint to DVLA anyway, they presumably have a record of when this data was requested and who requested it.

    Mr Beam,

Write to the DVLA along the lines that VP Parking Solutions, who you understand to be a British Parking Association AOS member, who is currently serving a suspension from accessing DVLA records, appear to have obtained your details as registered keeper. Ask them to provide you with details of who applied for your details and on what date.

You might just drop one of these parking companies in it.

Hell, you might even drop the DVLA in it too.

LIES. As if most people really care!! If this went to court (in other words, if elephants tought sociology), it would not be before magistrates who were trying you for a crime, it would be before a County Court whereby you would assume the role of defendant vs your opponent, the landowner, who claims you owe him money. You are only there in the first place because you contend otherwise. In the end, after you have provided your evidence that VP is not recovering losses but aspiring to make a huge profit out of you and that this is a de facto penalty - and your antagonists desperately try to satisfy the court that they only seek losses, losses which start at one rate and take a magical overnight jump to a higher amount before going higher still when debt collectors intervene to scare you into paying it before it is even registered - the judge will have to make a decision. And if, the judge deemed your antagonist's claim valid (in other words, if elephants tought sociology and jumped through hoops at the same time whilst humming the theme tune to Match of The Day), then you face the possibility of being inaugurated into the Credit Reference Hall of Fame, but only if you didn't pay the figure prescribed by court.
