awww well done for homing a mummy cat:T
we have a black and white and a huuuge furry black boy (sssh hes my favourite:o) plus a rescue white persian...
I love black cats ...cant understand why people dont like them:(
People always look terrified when Miyagi strolls though...and hes just a big gentle teddy of a cat:o***MSE...My.Special.Escape***0 -
I think the best purchase I've made so far for the cats is the Frenzy Rod, they both beginning to pant after their sessions with it.
Good for both of them as Roxie (black one) needs to build herself up after the kittens and Foggy (tabby) just needs to keep active.
They both looked disappointed though when I put it away.Proud to be dealing with my debts

my daughter has a wonderful black moggy with an extra toe on each foot, what a stunner he is, baby/cat sat one day and no.1 son got the shock of his life coming out from the bathroom to see his his big yellow eyes waiting for him - how I laughed.
Well done OP I hope all works out well for you all.

She's 18 months old, just finishing raising 2 kittens. She's just woken up after being spayed in the picture, her eyes are a bright green.
I had my home check this afternoon.
We already have a cat and a dog but the cat is missing feline companionship as the cat she'd lived with since being a kitten was PTS with kidney failure.
Introductions are going to be done slowly though as the resident cat is 12.
We decided on a black cat after reading that they are the ones most likely to struggle to find homes.
My daughter is very excited as this is her first new pet. She was also given the privilege of naming the kittens.
Shes beautiful am rather confused as to why black cats struggle to find homes, i thought a black cat meant good luck, at least it did when I got married 50 years ago,I was given many, sorry dont know the proper name, but a cardboard black cat , on a horse shoe , on a piece of ribbon.Slimming World at target0 -
I'm just as puzzled why they struggle for the same reason.
Black cats are also associated with witches and the supernatural though so it could be that.Proud to be dealing with my debts

It just seems so odd when there is so much popularity for 'supernatural' stuff ATM. I mean, there have never been more vampires about the place, and books like 'discovery of witches' do well in book charts, seems to me the standard fodder for young adult readers is supernatural and for adults it's certainly filtered through.
I have Siamese cats, and feral cats (black, tabby, and oddly one that looks like a snowshoe crossed with a wildcat) and I love them all, but the black cats hold a particular beauty to me that just makes me amazed.
Same with greyhounds, black males are hardest to home, where as to me the solid colour greyhounds, of any colour, are the most elegant looking.0 -
She's just a bundle of purrs and affection too, loves snuggling on the sofa with us.
Just been to the vet for her 2nd vaccinations, a 30 minute round trip with her meowing the whole way.
Roxie met my parents last night and won them over, especially as she comes running when you call her name.
I had a mild panic as Foggy escaped through the front door when the food shop was being delivered fortunately she knows where she's fed and was home quite quickly.Proud to be dealing with my debts

I got told too people dont like having them as they arent visable at night so more prone to accidents?
keep your cat in at night then...its an easy solution:o
i think tbh resons are many, black and white cats tend to get overlooked too so the spooky argument holds no sense there, people are just odd i think, if you look for instance on the rspca website...the majority are black and white cats that need homes. its tragic as its personailty that makes the cat not what colour it is!***MSE...My.Special.Escape***0 -
I keep them in at night anyway.
Foggy likes hunting a bit too much so it's my way of controlling that.
Going by the way Roxie treats the frenzy rod, she's going to be a hunter too!Proud to be dealing with my debts
