When we went to get a kitten this summer I told my teenage son (he was getting to chose said kitten because of good exam results) about black and white cats being less popular. Guess what he chose? Mad Kitten is now four months old and a holy terror, my two older cats sleep with one eye open in case he pounces. (They like him really.) Where he's black he's as glossy as a raven, where he's white he's like thistledown. The Americans call them Tuxedo Cats which I think is a nice name, he's certainly a very smart little cat.

The only downside is that you get both black AND white fur over everything. Oh well, at least this one is a short hair, our other rescue cat is a long haired charcoal and white furbomb. And we have a ginger one too...
