Acceptable hours - charity collectors?

I may just be gumpy today but do you think it is acceptable for a charity collector to knock at 8pm at night? I don't answer the door at all unless I'm expecting someone or I know who it is.

Sometimes I'm even obviously in with windows open and TV on, but I still won't go - there is no law that says you must answer your door.

And I'm not a really grumpy person either, I just refuse to be made to feel guilty for saying no on my own doorstep.
