  • ok, so I bought a bike from gumtree. It's a bit scruffy, but was much too cheap (not stolen before anyone says that!) so I'm tidying up and putting on ebay. Fingers crossed for a bit of profit towards lessons.

    paying £50 of oil tomorrow, will clear rest next week.

    I want to be in a place where I'm able to make a serious crack at driving test again and start lessons at end of month. It's the major thing holding me back from a lot of jobs.

    steps to work interview on wednesday, grim.

    Paid that £50 for oil, will clear remaining £50 on tuesday. We'll need more soon but I'll have a month to clear that. Rent goes out tuesday £200 paid.

    Refurbed that bike I bought, its on ebay now, auction closes thursday. That's basically driving lesson/test cash.

    This month's other debts.

    17th = £36.10 capital one
    25th = £16.10 hsbc

    So bike sold, that should be enough for 15 lessons and test fee/insurance for day.

    Rebooked test for 25th march, The lady paid for bike at 4.30 and at 5.30 got a mail from the estate agent who I had the placement offer from saying they have two trainee posts in two branches and had I got my test yet lol.

    So least I have two weeks to prepare for the test and enough cash to throw at lessons. Fingers crossed!

    36.10 to capital one.

    We needed oil again! I seriously need to move once I'm off Housing Benefit.
    So paid £53 towards that and another £53 will pay later in month.

    That should do us until early may though *crosses fingers for warm weather*

    argh. early april remembered my gf's aunt is getting married.

    This will be hugely expensive, taxi back from hotel will be 50 quid, nevermind the cost of booze and the rest. Nightmare.

    Added to which I don't even like the woman, her daughter used to live with my gf, stole from her then moved out halfway through the contract leaving my gf to pay all the rent and the bills she owed. Her mum who is pretty well off, didnt raise a finger.

    Gah, just as your getting ahead, having to spend money on nonsense like this!

    Just checked capital one/fredpay. That's me paid up until next month.

    I'm at £797 from £876 in October.

    Was out doing driving lessons thursday and friday, seemed to go well considering its been a while since I had any lessons. Hopefully take off the rough edges next week.

    So update. Sat my test 3 times, closest was 11 minors and instructor though I hadnt seen a car when I had, hits brake = fail. This has cost me over £500. Nightmare. So cant start estate agent job. I'm gonna rebook for go number 7 early june. This has again not helped getting myself on track, gone over overdraft twice as a result. I missed last months hsbc payment for cc too.

    The public sector admin job came up though its just temp while someone is acting up but its still £1150 a month compared to £450 a month on benefits.
    I need to get a replacement typing cert which costs £52.50 though, meh! Applied for that so just waiting on it coming back. So hopefully will be working again in the next two-three weeks. Its not a career but it is a job and it pays more than benefits. I'm sick of being on the dole as much as anything, its not good for you mentally either.

    fredpay/fredrickson, is now up to something I've paid 36.10 a month and not missed a payment since starting in october, My payment was due 17th, I logged in to find it said "returned to client"? Went to log into capital one account locked, I've had no letters from either. Gonna ring monday if no letter.

    The whole situation is pretty tight finacially from the driving nonsense, Gonna refocus and get things straightened out again, ready for new job, new test attempt and try and keep things ticking over until the wages start coming in.

    The good thing is once im earning, im used to living on peanuts so a couple of months of wages would make a huge dent in credit card debt.

    If we could afford a weeks holiday somewhere I think it would help both me and GF, driving and me struggling to get sorted for work has put pressure on us both.

    Work has begun on her house too, so it'll be ready for her to rent or whatever in 10 weeks.

    So good news, is I finally start the admin job on monday. Temp, but direct to the employer so it's about £1150 a month take home. This was delayed by a month by OCR being a total pain to get replacement certificates out of! Bit nervous been maybe 6 years since I did full time admin. I'm used to living on £450 a month so this will be way more cash to get me sorted.

    Sit my test again next saturday as well, see how that goes. Last big push.
    £200. ouch. Been ebaying old bike parts to grind this up.

    Sorted Fredpay out, bloody nightmare claiming I didn't pay when then they closed account, then claiming it was now fredrickson international I was dealing with, so had to go through the whole process again. Nonsense. I said £36.10 is your lot. They agreed. It's now down to £670 and will be £634 by end of the month. I'd like to get this cleared in one hit, where is a good place to get a template for getting a full and final settlement figure? If 634, would £450ish be do-able for F+F?

    That would only leave about £700 to HSBC and my £600 overdraft, so around £22a month payments/interest.

    GF's house will be finished mid august, so far £300 over budget (37k job), but on schedule and should be sorted. Took a lot of fighting to keep it this way!

    Started looking into actual saving next, opening a credit union account.

    With a bit of smarts I think I could be paying debts that cost less than £20 a month to service and under my limits for everything, which would be great.

    Ideally I want my test and move to estate agent work, but admin will do until that happens, I just need some cash coming in for now.
