Jan Bills to pay.
Capital one/fred £36.10 (by 17th)
HSBC £16.34 (by 21st)
Electric for the quarter will come in this month, so £70.
We'll need oil, housemate usually sticks on card so that gives me a month to pay it off. But thats £120, so im rolling that forward to febs bills, I might try and pay half of it this month and half next month.
I have a bike to sell too, so thats about 70 quid coming in, so will put that towards oil.
I will get all this cleared, but its bloody daunting looking at it like that. Still no missed payments to pay this month or late fee's or christmas presents for that matter!0 -
Had the last of christmas events on saturday, so thankfully that is that spends overwith! Christmas being over is a mixture of relief and depression oddly.
I have a test for a job i've applied for tomorrow, one is numerical reasoning and as my degree involved no maths for a reason, bit worried.
Paid capital one/fredpay today £36.10, balance is now £869.44 from £976.
bike still not sold (not surprised, everyone is skint still!) just starting to worry how I'm gonna make it through the month. No word yet on the temp job I applied for, will ask them, tomorrow maybe.
Feeling a bit fed up at the minute, cant quite put my finger on why though, odd.0 -

dunno, maybe beanielou.
So did the test, as expected verbal reasoning cracking, numerical reasoning not so great lol. I have another set of tests for a lower post in the same place on the 14th. I'm waiting on hearing back too for a temp admin officer post I applied for too.
I also got a letter telling me to attend an interview for steps to work for JSA, I dunno what they are gonna tell me. Most of the courses seem to be for essential skills or becoming self employed?
I found a graduate program though that seems to be run with them and and emailed them today, they have a 26 week post of trainee manager in an estate agents. So gonna follow that up too, its unpaid or you just get basic dole etc, but might lead somewhere and all helps the CV. I'm at the point where a few months even in a not great job would help the cash situation no end.
oh first day out driving today in a month, very very rusty.
ordered oil today as meant to go down to -4 this weekend in NI, £100 but I've a month to pay that.0 -
Hi,
I've just come across your posts, hope you don't mind me posting.
With regards to nerves I had mega nerves with my driving test, it took me a while to pass. On the test I passed I just said to myself 'right this is the last time I'm putting myself through this' and I passed! I also used some rescue remedy which is a natural herbal remedy to help with stress and panic type feelings. It worked for me!
Well done with all the positive stuff you've done so far. I am currently out of work which was unplanned and have been recovering from an accident at work for a few months, hoping to get temp work soon. I'm going on a self funded course on Monday, hopefully it'll give me some help with getting a job I enjoy.
Have you checked out the recipe threads on here for cheap food ideas? There are some cracking ones, we had bolognaise pasta bake last night. I love Sains basics range, esp the mayo, juice, cheese...they even do croissants! You can cut even more costs with basic veg meals eg: beans on toast (can all be 'basic'), jacket potato.
Keep your chin up, it'll all work out

@dramarama, its a discussion forum, by all means comment! I'm a half decent cook and so I do ok cooking. I find tesco (especially the market value stuff) the cheapest. I currently spend about £20 a week on food and eat pretty well, a big tesco shop, staying away from local shops (pricey) and freezer dinners seems to be the key there. Good luck with course!
£16.34 Paid to HSBC today, meh! But if I dont pay on time its £12 late fees.
Sat the other tests for the job on Monday, my test was 2.45pm and about 10 people sat it, I presume this had gone on all day. This is for one admin post, so maybe 100 people in for it!
Have to sign on Thursday and then interview for steps to work thing on Friday.
Get JSA Monday and £70 of that will go on electric bill for quarter and the other £45 on shopping leaving me £10.
Driving cant really move forward for now, I just cant afford it.
I cant tell you how fed up I am, it just feels like a constant grind to keep my head above water and I don't feel like I'm really getting anywhere.
N.Ireland has also been quite a bleak place to be the past few weeks with flag stuff going on too.
I'm a thirty something guy, able to work with a half decent education. I just want a job that's the bottom rung of something. I just need a break.

Thanks Smithfield for your comment. I've had periods of unemployment and am currently in that position again. Things that helped me with long periods of unemployment were volunteering and writing a blog, both gave me a focus and stopped me becoming introverted.
I am constantly told 'something will turn up'!
Make sure you've got things that keep you happy/occupied as well as job searching s it can be a full time task in itself this job searching.:)Married in 2016. Bought our first home in 2017. Expecting our first baby in November 2017

So found a new 6 month placement available as a graduate trainee manager of an estate agent that I could do.
Only draw back is I just found out a driving licence is listed in the criteria as "preferable".
GAH! Honestly this bloody driving is holding my whole life up! lol
I'm gonna have to just find the money somehow.0 -
I sat a test the other week for a post with a housing trust. Looks like, ive passed shortlisting and the verbal/numerical tests. Got a letter through the post to say I've an interview next week.
I could pay off credit cards in two months with this job, if I got it.
fingers crossed.0 -
Ooh, that sounds promising. No driving licence required either I take it? Good luck!0
