Hey good to see you so upbeat, it is lovely to see you have managed to get rid of some of the Barclaycard and I agree, the 99p would have driven me mad as well

Good deals in Monsoon too, I bet your niece and nephew will be overjoyed to receive a parcel, they are so exciting to get and then see what is inside
Been here for a long time and don't often post0 -
After all my smugness on Saturday, I had a stupid day yesterday, even though I didn't spend anything, which I suppose is something. I went round to my old flat to clean it ready to hand the keys back and ended up falling into the arms of my ex (again!) who was charming the pants off me despite me knowing exactly how he'd act the next day. I pre-empted it this time by telling him to shove off in the middle of the night as he'd talked me into staying over, but I then had a very shivery night in the spare room without any bedding sleeping in my coat. I've told him not to contact me again, and have deleted his number from my phone, but I still feel crap. I'm documenting this in case it happens again and I screw up my budget the next day! I do fear for my half of the deposit but hopefully he's not so much of an unsavoury character as to keep it from me. He never used to be, but I don't know anymore.
But enough whinging. The fact is I've spent twelve pounds today on total rubbish which is now nestling in my stomach. I met my friend for a much needed chat a lunchtime, but spent £5.05p on a coffee and cake, then spent a further seven pounds in a supermarket on a smorgasbord of chocolate and a token apple, which is still sitting in my desk drawer.
I'm annoyed with myself not only for my spends, but also my weight. I can practically feel the spots clustering on my chin.
Tomorrow I'm going to pick myself up and eat a sensible diet and do some exercise to release some endorphins. For now, I'm lazing about with some Cadbury Heroes because I got so little sleep last night. It was flipping freezing.
Down to £24.44 out of £70 until Saturday. It CAN be done. With a few baked beans.

I've had a NSD day today! And this is because my housemate locked me in the house accidentally so I was unable to go to work. :rotfl:I'm still locked in now, so after a long snooze I've been jiggling around my figures for the month ahead. I've paid off the £60 from my Barclaycard leaving the figure a a nice even £3500. I will work on paying more to it, but I've realised I really need a chest of drawers, no matter how poor I am. Only having a bed as furniture in a bed room is ridiculous, any way you look at it.
I'm in a much more chipper mood today, although the only food in the house was half a box of Cadbury Heroes, now down to a quarter of a box.
So no exercise or dietary improvements so far, but when someone comes in from work and releases me from my tower I'm going to try and go for a gentle jog. Bake off final tonight, so my friend will be giving me tea, it's usually a super healthy veggie curry/stir fry so that'll be good.
I've been looking at all my belongings in my room and realised I've got loads of stuff I could eBay, but I've never sold on there before and I'm a bit daunted. My ex gave me LOADs of Toy Story stuff I'm sure I could shift before crimbo, so I'm going to start looking into it. The amount of toys I've got for a 29 year old with no children is positively obscene.Barclaycard [STRIKE] £2770 [/STRIKE] now £2690.

I'm using chocolate as an excuse today - an exam tomorrow and I've been told chocolate aids memory recollection... ;-) Sadly not much choc in the house and I am being good - no spending!
Good luck selling the stuff on eBay - I've found selling stuff on local selling groups on Facebook works quite well too, and of course no postage/selling fees.0 -
 Thanks AMR.
I actually feel slightly like I'm going to be sick from all the chocolate, so at least you're spared that. I see me going for a run and vomiting in front of some horrified school children. Good luck with your exam!Barclaycard [STRIKE] £2770 [/STRIKE] now £2690.

Good morning Fudgie :hello:
Sorry I've not been about for a bit - just caught up and wanted to give you a pat on the back for the great start you've made with your Diary; am relieved to read that you understand you're going to have to keep an eye on your moods and meds all your life - it gives you 100% better chance of success as you know!
I am a bit worried that your flatmate managed to lock you inside all day though - can't quite imagine how that happened, but hope by now you've taken steps to get the extra key or the code, to avoid a repeat of that hassle - which could be more than a hassle if it happens again when you're not feeling as resilient.
Great news on the Barclaycard payment by the way; you'll see the difference in the charges next month which is very satisfying - but I hope you get in a basic kit of healthy grub before shoving more funds at that.
Ebaying is good fun once you get the hang of it - took me ages to suss out how to add 'photos and learn that the one bit that cannot be revised if I'd made a mistake is the title, so it's worth taking extra care with that initial description (I listed an antique toy as 100 years older than it actually was, which generated loads of interest and high bids - then had to work out how to withdraw it because the winner would have been very disappointed if the sale had gone through - didn't want any negatives on my 100% positive feedback!).
It's a great time to put toys on Ebay of course, as loads of people are looking for cheap xmas pressies - so very good luck with that! If you don't get the advisory emails yet, am sure someone will give you the heads-up when the next free listing weekend happens, but it's a good idea to get your descriptions written beforehand so you're ready to go - make sure you avoid the auctions ending in the middle of a popular tv show!0 -
Thanks for popping by Robin.
There's a lot of sense in everything you said. I've made no great strides on the eBay side of things but I have now downloaded the iPhone app which apparently is very simple to use, so now all I need to do is work out postage. I think I'll start hovering suspiciously near the Post & Go machines in the Post Office looking for large packages. :rotfl:I have told my housemates that the lock on the door needs to be changed (it's broken on the inside) so the landlord is coming round to have a look.
Onto other news... yesterday I was ludicrously busy, went to work, the hairdressers, Ikea and still managed to bake two chocolate cakes for a friend. I was totally worn out today though and a tiny bit moody, but I think I covered it well. Moneywise things are okay, I over spent by £25 what I had budgeted for in Ikea, but the good news is I now have TWO cheapo chests of drawers for my clothes, which was probably necesary. The boxes are so blooming heavy I haven't yet lugged them up to my room, think I'll enlist some male help. Found 2p on a bus seat this morning, I do love a bit of free change.
Had a NSD today, which is very good, but I also ate a whole Chocolate Orange, which is very bad. Rome wasn't built in a day though, eh?Barclaycard [STRIKE] £2770 [/STRIKE] now £2690.

Hello Fudgie, :hello:
Oooh - chocolate orange? Yummy! I've not eaten one of those for at least ten years; minstrels are my downfall!
Am glad to hear your LL is coming to replace the faulty door lock promptly - I'd be ashamed if maintenance fell so far behind that one of my tenants got locked in; the possibility of a fire doesn't bear thinking about! (Erm, have you checked that the fire alarms actually work? Given how slack your LL has been, I would!).
Sounds like you've had an amazingly busy day; well done - but watch out it wasn't a sign of getting to the top of the roller-coaster won't you? ..Do you meditate? My BP friends find that very useful when they feel a manic phase coming on - helps them keep track of what's happening inside their head.
Re Postage for Ebay; don't know about the app thingy, but I use this:
http://www.royalmail.com/price-finder
..And round it up to cover cost of packing materials and fuel to the post office. High value stuff goes by courier - don't give the choice after learning the hard way - this company always finds me a good deal:
http://www.myparceldelivery.com/
Or if I don't want to have to work out prices for loads of enquirers while the auction is running, I put the following into the item description:
"Collection from [put the first half of my postcode] please, or I am happy to package item securely ready for pick-up by your courier (to get a quote for delivery to your address; give courier my postcode and the parcel weight of XXkg)."
..Which works wonderfully as long as you've packed up the item and checked the weight before listing!
