For the three years that his whereabouts were unknown are payments been made to you for that cause although it is only a fiver a week surely you should still receive the backdated money after all every penny counts. If during the 3 years he was working or not surely the csa would be able to find out via the benefits agency, arent these agencies supposed to be linked and help each other with information.

I don't think that anyone is saying that the term absent parent can not be used correctly, don't you get that?

I was agreeing with what Toto said.. is that ok with you?

Fine by me, you are free to agree with whoever you wish.

Call your ex whatever you like, you chose him afterall.

What I am trying to say is, no one has said that the term 'Absent parent' can't be used correctly, so you asking "What else can he be called but absent?!" Sounds like someone has said that you couldn't call him this.

I am trying to make the point that I believe that it shouldn't be used as a default term for parents that see there kids reguarly.

Experience means nothing to me, everyone has an equal right to voice their opinions on here (including me).

Nope, nobody said I couldn't call him absent!! But I got the impression earlier in the thread that this term was frowned upon, thats all :)

Lol, yes I did choose him.. but my excuse is I was 18 and knew no better :D

    :)

We all chose our exs - we wouldn't have gone with them if we knew what they were really like - you never find out until after you split up do you? They would never say during a relationship - hey, let's have kids and then if we split up I will do my utmost to avoid supporting them! Would they? Or would they? mine never did, he always said he would support her, but no, when push came to shove, he would rather see her starve than face his own responsibilities because he can't get over the hate he feels for me - very childish.

When my ex got pregnant two months into the 'Relationship' I was given the option of 'Walking away'.

I stayed in the picture without a second thought.

When things got tough, I was told to "Stop putting money in my account, as I don't need it".

I fought for a contact order.
To then be called an absent parent, does not sit right.
