I was unaware that people here were that easily offended. My ex husband is absent, we havent seen him for 3 1/2 years and has not contacted the kids in all that time either!!!

so my apologies to anyone who was offended by me saying 'absent'

Don't see the point anymore in offering advice to people who only want to be agreed with...

please be nice to all moneysavers
  • It is correct that if your ex is one benefits he only has to pay £5.00 a week - but I thought that was per child. My ex partner although he earns well more than me only has to pay £18.00 a week and he still does not manage to pay that. He now has arrears of over £5000 and i still do not get a penny. the CSA are a waste of time!!

I see what you are saying some people find being branded an absent parent offensive, in exactly the same way as others were offended by your statement.

    :p i'm right eh :o

Hi all. Mollycat, i think your situation is awful, how have you got by in those 3 plus years? My hat goes off to you.
My sister is in a similar situ at the moment and went to a mediation session yesterday with violent ex husband and in front of the counsellor tried to get out of seeing his 2 boys (hasn't seen them for 4 months) this weekend when it would normally have been his turn. I don't think the woman could believe her ears! She said 'Mr... you haven't seen your children for 4 months, your ex-wife has no problem with you seeing them, she just doesn't want to see you herself, what's your problem?!'
Another one who pays a pittance towards the upkeep of his kids and thinks he's doing his bit - amazing (her eldest son is disabled also).
Good luck Molly, by the way if he's not absent them what exactly is he? Just wondering..
