2530 posts?? that's some long-term thinking. Also there is the issue that the OP infers that Winnington International use dubious sales tactics, have no respect for private information, and use aggressive sales techniques. I wouldn't touch them with a barge pole. And that OP's post is already easily displayed whenever anyone tries well known search engines.

What worries me is how telephone sales techniques seem to work on gullible naive people with little experience of the world. What is needed is more education, and shared information as offered by this forum, to try and stamp out people praying on the weak and ill prepared. For sure in this case you can see that the salesman was neither weak or ill prepared

There's enough info about my private life on these boards, and I know that I've met at least 2 people on here in real life (one works in a coffee shop, the other came to our offices last year).

I prefer to get a second opinion on things like this, and as I couldn't find any info at all on the company, thought it may be best to ask on these boards. It may also be worth mentioning that I have discussed concerns with police this morning and have a CRN.

The problem also is that Winnington International have chosen a name that sounds like it's been around for years, and the sale technique was strange, but I can see how someone would be convinced.

First thing that got me was that he didn't use 'Ltd/PLC/whatever' at the end of the company name. I'll always put it on there, although it seems to be habit.

    A sensible precaution IMO.

Yes, they have my accountants details to speak with her regarding it. This was the point I was making last night; it frees me to run a business and she deals with quite a few bits FOC as she's a personal friend.

To be fair to them the limited company trading as Winnington International is clearly displayed on their home page and subsequent pages. They also offer full contact details.

If you enter "Winn Properties UK Ltd" in google the first entry is from duedil.com. The odd thing is they offer:

Their current status is 'Non-trading', and their founding director, Peter Valaitis, has been the director of 11701 other companies.

Of course I know nothing of duedil.com and they offer that the company has recently filed returns.

The second Google offering, companycheck.co.uk backs this info up and confirms the details.

CK I've read and appreciated your posts in the past and don't doubt that you are here for the best intentions. But surely you must admit that your original post makes no sense at all.

I am staggered why CKhalvashi goes on MSE to talk about this phonecall.

Just another opportunity for Cllr (alleged) CKhalvashi to brag about the apparent price of his house and the cars on the pavement. His accountant on tap is also an alleged councillor hence the freebie :D

I thought my 47 was pushing it (and all but 8 of those are active)

I probably didn't word the OP as best I could, I was in a meeting at the time it was written. I think the intention of the post has come out in the wash re dodgy investments in general.

I think is fair to say he never seems to pass up an opportunity to mention how well he is doing, how many companies he owns, how much he is earning, what assets he has, what the value of those assets are etc. etc.
