Thank You. I took a trip to Currys today and took a look. There are so many to choose from but the playbook looks good. Thanks for taking the time to help.NiftyDigits wrote: »If you already have a BlackBerry, consider the Playbook for £109 upwards.Maureen0 -
What would you like it to do? What you want to use it for will influence which tablet is best for you!0

Shame you are anal and have an attitude problem, I did not specifically ask for YOUR help I asked a genuine question as I did not know. Yes I do know about the search, do you know about manners.Look it up techie!:T Take a peek here

#1 I haven't resorted to personal insults. So who is it who needs lessons in manners?
#2 I'm also not the one with a sense-of-humour failure.

1. Avoid blackberry playbook like the plague
2. Depending on your budget then
2a) Google Nexus is by far the best Android table for its price, the Galaxy Tab is quite unresponsive in comparison
2b) The iPad costs double but has a better out of the box experience
If you explain what you wish to get out of the tablet then it can be narrowed down more.0 -
£115 http://www.hotukdeals.com/deals/archos-a101-g9-8gb-wifi-10-tablet-dual-core-ice-cream-sandwich-tesco-direct-3-delivery-1330860
Very good for the budget-minded and it's good spec and at least a relatively well known name.
And of course easily returnd to Tesco.

I have the Galaxy tab2 10.1" when Amazon were recently flogging it for £299 with £50 cashback and it was the 3G model - despite varying reports of it being sluggish or a great performer I have to say that I'm quite impressed, it's not slow to react and has a decent quality of screen and overall build.
If I were to buy a 7" tablet I'd probably get the Google Nexus7 as it's the most likely to get ongoing updates but they don't yet offer a larger size or a 3G version (hopefully that will change) so I for one looked elsewhere and decided on the Tab2

Sorry when I said the Galaxy tab was sluggish I meant that if you compare it to an iPad (perhaps unfair) then the UI does have a very slight "jerky" feel to it.
Processing wise it's a good device.0 -
Thanks Guys. General concensus is that the Nexus is the one to go for. Thank you for all the positive feedback. Will wait as suggested till November to see if price goes down.Maureen0

Nowt wrong with the PlayBook at the current point of £130 for 64gb.Apple support is weak but a lot can be converted easily and loaded on the device.
It has two great cameras an hdmi port so you can hook up a tv, two cracking speakers and is in my opinion a great media player/Internet browser.
If you have a blackberry phone you can smell from it and use it as a remote control but you can tether it to any phone or wifi hotspot.
It has just received an update and it will be getting bb10 next year.
The nexus 7 could have been so good and I considered it but I think the PlayBook offers better value
At the end of the day you should buy what you think is best for you but I wouldn't discount devices just because some people have read some Internet comments, especially if the reviews were before the big OS update0
