Well I got my new pc, omg :eek:win 8 and IE10! Slowly trying to work it out. OH has said he'll pay for it as my xmas present. Picked up a bottle of whisky today as a thank you for my colleague who's got my data back. He wasn't in the office on Friday but offered to bring it in, I said no as I didn't want to put him out. So I'll get it back on Monday. Apparently I had 100GB of data!!!!!! 60GB was music and the rest was my family photos and craft stuff.
We went to see SIL today as OH has been taking a leaf out of my book and giving people a second chance. Er, well it didn't go well. We arrived and there was people working on their driveway and front garden. BIL very quickly disappeared into the house (and he had seen us) and then reappeared. Now maybe I'm being paranoid here but they seemed very on edge. We went in and sat and had a coffee, then BIL let slip in conversation (when asked about the garden etc) that the workmen was costing him £1200 for the weekend. As soon as he said it he went quiet then made an excuse and left the room. And then it dawned on OH and I that SIL and BIL had lied, they said that they couldn't afford for their dogs to go to kennels for 4 weeks. So basically we've just paid for them to get their driveway and garden done!!!!!! :mad:CC2 = £8687.86 ([STRIKE]£10000[/STRIKE] )CC1 = £0 ([STRIKE]£9983[/STRIKE] ); Reusing shopping bags savings =£5.80 vs spent £1.05.Wine is like opera. KW, I think we'll just leave them alone for a while till OH and I calm down. They can go visit everyone else but don't come and see us unless they want something.
Having a very chilled night with OH (trying to calm down after earlier), a couple of glasses of wine and watching (reminiscing) The 70's.
Tomorrow's jobs will depend on the weather as supposed to be going to my Gran's to finish painting. Also need to do a shop, washing, ironing. Still have tomatoes growing (inside) and these definitely taste like tomatoes they're lovely. My dining room is like a green house and the tomatoes are loving it!CC2 = £8687.86 ([STRIKE]£10000[/STRIKE] )CC1 = £0 ([STRIKE]£9983[/STRIKE] ); Reusing shopping bags savings =£5.80 vs spent £1.05.Wine is like opera. Jobs done today?
- paperwork
- finished painting Gran's
- shopping (although I wanted the 2 tins of sweets for £7, mr M we went to had sold out days before but still had the poster up!)
- got thank you bottle of whisky for my colleague (nice chap, he said there was 2 he liked. One was £20 and the other £30. I got the more expensive one as my pictures mean a lot to me and he refused payment it was me insisting and asking did he drink whisky etc. I think its only fair).
- washing done. Although in hindsight I should have done it yesterday so it could all dry.
- mine and OH's packed lunches made
Tomorrow's jobs (after work) is to crack on with the birthday cards.CC2 = £8687.86 ([STRIKE]£10000[/STRIKE] )CC1 = £0 ([STRIKE]£9983[/STRIKE] ); Reusing shopping bags savings =£5.80 vs spent £1.05.Wine is like opera. I've wanted 5 mins to myself all weekend to put a face mask on. I finally get to do it on Sunday night. I can feel it starting to set!

Just realised I posted the same thing twice last night....ooops! Lol
Got a cracker of a headache today. OH started his new job this morning and as usual he's working on one coast and I've working on the other. Keep you fingers crossed I get extended here. Murmuring's going on.CC2 = £8687.86 ([STRIKE]£10000[/STRIKE] )CC1 = £0 ([STRIKE]£9983[/STRIKE] ); Reusing shopping bags savings =£5.80 vs spent £1.05.Wine is like opera. Well it turns out I got the dates wrong for the when the cards are wanted for, its for this week!!!!!
Still no word about my renewal. Please keep your fingers crossed.
Got a text last night say from OH's niece (SIL's daughter) saying she got engaged. She texted me but not OH. Then we both got a text from SIL. OH replied and said that I'd got a text directly. SIL replied and asked what we're getting them!!!???!!!!. Now I'm a little taken aback by the timing, as who do you know gets engaged on a Monday afternoon when they're both working? I'm wondering if her (niece) nose is out of joint as her brother and his partner are due a baby in a few weeks and they've been the focus of attention. She also chose a ring that is an exact match lookswise to what OH got me for our anniversary (I know now why she was so off with me at the baby shower). She posted last night on a certain social media site saying she was so happy but disappointed she hadn't had more messages from people. Eh? Does it really matter the number?CC2 = £8687.86 ([STRIKE]£10000[/STRIKE] )CC1 = £0 ([STRIKE]£9983[/STRIKE] ); Reusing shopping bags savings =£5.80 vs spent £1.05.Wine is like opera. Yay for new PC and OH for paying for it. Very sweet
Yay for your colleague. £30 whiskey seems to be a bargain. As you say, the photos mean a heck of a lot! And there was rather a lot!!
:mad: to SIL and co. Unbelievable! I'd be absolutely furious too! You'll be making sure you never do them a favour ever again!
What is it with people and 'likes'??? Although as far as I'm aware it's really only a teenage thing, as OHs oldest 2 are forever comparing and competing *rolleyes*Wealth is what you're left with when all your money runs out0 -
Unix I would reply to SIL with "well we would love to get your daughter and her intended something, and as soon as you pay us the £500 for kennel fees we will do."
Oh and accidentally send that to the niece as well
Must use my stash up!0 -

The best of it is the niece is 30, so old enough to know better! I 'might' do them a card but they are not getting a present. Maybe that seems mean but she's been through I don't how many boyfriends in the time I've know her. The last one bought her a house, then when she got a 'friendly' with another guy on holiday. He came home, changed the locks and finished with her yet we were supposed to feel sorry for her. If you go back through my posts I did her a huge moving in hamper and I didn't even get a direct thank you, that came through SIL.CC2 = £8687.86 ([STRIKE]£10000[/STRIKE] )CC1 = £0 ([STRIKE]£9983[/STRIKE] ); Reusing shopping bags savings =£5.80 vs spent £1.05.Wine is like opera.
